"Nelumbo nucifera"

My brain was tugged on from the left side
I turned
I took in the sunrise
I’ve seen it a million times
Why was I surprised?

Its’ brilliance made me squint
What’s brilliant, is our life’s stint
Who claims to be stoic?
It’s hard to stomach some pains
Over 5 billion strong (under God’s domain)

I was recently reflecting on how others affect us
While engaged in a thought
I was inspired by a Lotus
Anciently familiar
Sowing such shocking deeds

Lotus
Lotus…
Many have enjoyed those seeds
As an herbal tea that people make
Or in those not-so-ancient Moon cakes

A Lotus visited me you see?
And her beautiful ways inspired me…

Loyal, loving, laugh out loud funny
Original , one of a kind, sweet as a drop of honey
Talented, talkative, tenaciously determined, loaded with advice to give
Undeniably frank, contemplative, deals with a lot yet still constantly supportive
Super personality, strong in character, seriously engaging, a rare one of a kind

Favorite Writers: Stephen King, Dean Koontz (mostly because he also writes poetry - see Book of Counted Sorrows), Anne Rice and many others. Favorite poets are kind of hard to narrow down, but I love the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, D.H. Lawrence and many others.

Music that I like: I listen to all kinds of music including but not limited to: Metal - modern and classic, Death Metal, Hard Rock, Rock, Alternative, Punk, Techno, Dance, Horror Rap, Industrial, Goth, Classical, Classic Rock, New Age.... Bif Naked Rocks! ICP, and one single song by Eminem... Yes it is true.. I am ashamed..

Music has been a huge part of my life, and an even bigger inspiration than most people will ever know.
