WhiffenpoofShow poetry

Started writing poetry several years ago when I started doing a little research into my Uncle's death in WWII. some of my older cousins who remembered him said I reminded them of him. My first poem was written in honor of him and others who gave their lives for our freedom. It was read at our local Remembrance Day service (Nov 11th) and I got fairly good reviews for it. When I get a better feel for this site I will post that poem.
I have selected Kipling as my favorite poet because I believe he may be the most quoted poet of all time, esp. his poem "Recessional" and the timeless quote "Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet, lest we forget, lest we forget!"
I don't want to become a famous poet, just like to share a bit of what I've done. If this site gives me that opportunity to share my feelings and read what others share, that is all I would ask.

oh, er, You're Canadian. That's unfortunate for you. Sorry, I didn't know. But, hang on, who really cares. I'ts people like you that makes me laugh. Your so uptight and predictable. So serious, so Canadian. Listen up me ol' china, get over your insecurities, learn to take comments with a tongue in cheek approach and just pull ya head in eh! Don't be a self righteous twat.

I see you're a fan of fiction by having the bible as your favourite book. No wonder your full of delusions and muddled thoughts.
I find it amusing that your canadian and you use the word bland to describe me.
