Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
Martin Luther King Jr.

the liberty of the Press is called the Palladium of Freedom, which means, in these days, the liberty of being deceived, swindled, and humbugged by the Press and paying hugely for the deception." - Mark Twain, 1870
"My whole life before had not afforded me, one half the opportunity to plead for the right. Had I so interfered in behalf of the rich, the powerful, it would have been all right. (Referring to the Bible), which teaches me that all things, whatsoever I would that men should do to me. I should even so to them. It teaches me further, to remember them that are in bond as bound with them. I endeavored to act up to that instruction. I believed to have interfered as I have done, as I have always freely admitted on behalf of HIs despised poor, I did no wrong, but right. Now, if it is deemed necessary that I should forfeit my life for the furtherance of the ends of justice and mingle my blood further with th ebood of my children and that the blood of millions in this slave country whose rights are disregarded by wicked, cruel and unjust enactments, I say let it be done." John Brown Abolitionist at his trial in 1859.
"I had once believed, that we were all masters of our future, that we could mold our lives into any form we pleased. I had overcome deafness and blindness sufficiently to be happy and I supposed that anyone could come out victorious if he threw himself valiantly into life's struggle. But as I went more and more about the country I learned that I had spoken with assurance on a subject that I knew little about ..I learned that the power to rise in the world is not within the reach of everyone." Helen Keller Socialist, Suffragist
"Ten men in our country could buy the world and 10 million can't buy enough to eat." Will Rogers
The History of a nation is unfortunately too easily written as the history of its dominant class." Kwame Nkrumah
Labor is prior to and independent of capitol. Capitol is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capitol and deserves much the higher consideration." Abraham Lincoln
