My Feelings on Life:
I am great. If you are here, I bet you are, too!
I like life. I like singing and dancing and hiking and climbing trees and picking flowers and painting and sewing and laughing and cutting my own hair and banging on tin cans and high fashion and death metal shows and origami.
I like the color kelly green and Nick Cave.
Life is gigantic and grand and completely worth living; I know this primarily because I spent a great deal of my life thinking it was dull and ugly and full of ratty holes.
My Feelings on Poetry:
I'd rather you write rhyming poems about puppies than think you write like Bukowski. At least that's honest.
I'm tired of a lot of things in poetry. I'm tired of slam poetry (okay, not all... but most of it). I'm tired of contrived forms. I'm tired of pretentious hipsters. I'm tired of people who preach: left-wing liberal fascists, right-wing out and out wackjobs. I'm tired of people who cling so tightly to their threadbare beliefs that they make me want to puke. I'm tired of poems that hold on too tightly to any one thing and don't let go.
Write poetry because if you didn't you would stop breathing, your insides would constrict, your mouth would run dry, and your would forget how to bleed. Write because when you don't the stars are more dull, the sun doesn't shine right, the moon hides her face. Write because when you get out a good poem it feels like the best orgasm of your life. If you write for any other reason, stop.
Make it pop. Make it fresh. Make it (oh, I quote) "feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off". Thank you Ms. Dickinson.
I see a lot of people's profiles who say "don't comment if you don't like what I write". That's retarded. If you don't like what I write, tell me, but you better tell me why... or I'll break your legs, punk.
uuuuhhhhh......
I like people who are awesome. I like poets who are awesome poets. Sometimes these do not coincide.
All of this said, I'm wicked nice and I don't bite.
