Topography

After you flew across the country we
got in bed, laid our bodies
delicately together, like maps laid
face to face, East to West, my
San Francisco against your New York, your
Fire Island against my Sonoma, my
New Orleans deep in your Texas, your Idaho
bright on my Great Lakes, my Kansas
burning against your Kansas your Kansas
burning against my Kansas, your Eastern
Standard Time pressing into my
Pacific Time, my Mountain Time
beating against your Central Time, your
sun rising swiftly from the right my
sun rising swiftly from the left your
moon rising slowly from the left my
moon rising slowly from the right until
all four bodies of the sky
burn above us, sealing us together,
all our cities twin cities,
all our states united, one
nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

It's only words... unless they're true.
David Mamet

Fan the sinking flame of hilarity with the wing of friendship; and pass the rosy wine.
Charles Dickens

Every doorway, every intersection has a story.
Katherine Dunn

I have been a believer in the magic of language since, at a very early age, I discovered that some words got me into trouble and others got me out.
Katherine Dunn

A writer must teach himself that the basest of all things is to be afraid.

I just realized you commented on a crapload of my poetry, something i rarely check anymore as far as being two-sided about it all. Thank you very much for your kind words on it, I try to keep writing despite the fact that the words come less quickly nowadays. I shall make an effort to begin digesting some of yours as well.

    Thanks again

    Hey
I remember you, we used to chat for ungodly hours about the randomest crap on msn. And we were in a totally rad junk-instrument parade which I guess rates pretty high on the randometer too.
Sigh. I haven't been on msn in a very long time now, but out of boredom I'm on now. If I remember your address or you tell me (hint) I'll add you so we can discuss those important issues like what's the best brand of bottled water again
    Alternatively my msn is shmookey@shmookey.net

    Speak to you later
