A good-sized portion of my work is somewhat old; I stopped writing for a little while. I would like to get back into writing somewhat regularly again, though, so here I am! - hoping to be inspired, hoping to find something worth writing about. I realize that my older work, particularly, is pretty corny but give me a break...it was a while back. I use it, more than anything, to gauge how I've grown. I'm pretty much a closet poet (that is, I don't let very many people know that I write).
Some of my favorite poets are Billy Collins, Robert Frost, Ted Kooser, and Li Tai Po.
Other stuff totally unrelated to writing that you may not know about me: I love to read - a lot. I think good food is way underrated. I love coffee shops and coffee and hot tea like nobody's business. I'm pretty sarcastic and somewhat cynical, but somewhere in there is a hopeless romantic. Yes, I studied psychology; no, I don't psychoanalyze everyone I meet. I am a Christian, but I have many doubts at any given time. I adore argyle socks and herringbone tweed. I have a favorite word: defenestration (the throwing of a person or thing out of a window). I love music more than just about anything else. I dream of touring Europe someday. I visited for a couple weeks 4 and a half years ago, and it only made me hungry for more.
I like making new friends. So if you want to drop me a message, please do, and I'll actually respond. And just so you know, if I'm not on, I've been working two jobs lately, so I've been busy and tired.
