A good-sized portion of my work is somewhat old; I haven't written much in a while (at least not until joining this site). I would like to get back into writing regularly again, though, so here I am! - hoping to be inspired, hoping to find something worth writing about. I realize that my older work, particularly, is pretty corny but give me a break...it was a while back. I use it, more than anything, to gauge how I've grown. I'm pretty much a closet poet (that is, I don't let very many people know that I write).

Some of my favorite poets are Billy Collins, Robert Frost, Ted Kooser, and Li Tai Po. I also think that thisblessedmess has some pretty awesome stuff - you should check his page out!

Other stuff totally unrelated to writing that you may not know about me: I love to read - a lot. That's what summer and Christmas breaks are for. I think good food is way underrated. I love coffee shops and coffee and hot tea like nobody's business. I'm pretty sarcastic and somewhat cynical, but somewhere in there is a hopeless romantic. Yes, I study psychology; no, I don't psychoanalyze everyone I meet. I am a Christian. I adore argyle socks and herringbone tweed. I have a favorite word: defenestration (the throwing of a person or thing out of a window). I love music more than just about anything else. I dream of touring Europe someday. I visited for a couple weeks 4 years ago, and it only made me hungry for more.
