Well, here goes...
I guess a lot of things in my life have inspired me to write. Not just poetry, but writing in general, even though I make pretty shoddy work of it. Though, without trying to sound too self-serving, I'd say poetry is probably the weaker of my writing 'forte'.
I know very little about poetry and that's the way I'd like to keep it. I only wish to write poetry as myself. Not trying to aspire to someone I'm not. I don't really know why, but I tent to lose track after looking at the works of the Great Poets.
Much (if not all) of my poetry is freeverse, largely due to the fact that freeverse is my only way to express myself. I know, it sucks.
Most of my poems are based on past experiences and/or any kind of random stuff that floats around inside my head. For me, I belive that poetry takes place when words are written by emotions.
Oh yeah, occasionally I will conjure up an abysmal piece of trash I think passes for a poem. It takes me a while to see this, but when I have finally come to my senses, we shall be spared of it.
Anyway, I'm not going to jabber on.
