So I think the last time I was on here was a little more than a year ago. It's also been that long since I wrote my last poem.
I think the reason I stopped writing poetry is because I was trying to hard to make it mean something, which is exactly the thing I loathe in others' writing.
I do love to write, however. I start a whole bunch of things, many of which will never be finished. Sometimes ideas pop into my head, and they won't leave until I've put pen to paper and just write. The writing stops when the ideas cease to flow. As a result, I have a ton of papers lying around with anything from a couple of sentences to a couple of paragraphs written. It's too bad, really. Some of it's not half bad.
So, about me. I'm an almost-graduate of high school. I'll be going to TCU next year to major in music education, possibly with a minor in writing/editing. I'm super excited. =)

Thank you for the wonderful comment, and my daughter was the inspiration for the poem "time to go" ... don't ask me how I dunno, i just remember looking at her and thinking wow, and then it just came to me.
