Gate Keeper on March 6, 2008haha, yeah, well, the last few months have been kinda rough for me that way, but even within the last 2 weeks, things have really been clearing up so that right now I honestly, actually couldn't be more happy. :-D praise the Lord - that's all I can say! :-D
and yeah, I think I've just started realizing, too, just how good poetry is for me when I'm feeling emotional or stressed -- it really seems to take a lot off my chest just to get something on paper; it's pretty amazing that way. lol. but yes, I also think the best poetry comes from the heart, you know? you can't write well and passionately about something you don't feel; it just doesn't come out well when it's forced like that, you know?
but yes -- you're right, haha, I COULD use some more happy/uplifting stuff on here, huh? haha. :-D maybe I'll even crank out something tonight -- I'm feeling pretty darn good right now, that's for sure! maybe it has to do with the fact that I've got a week of spring break coming up in.....1 day!!! hahaha. :-D -
SilverButterfly on October 15, 2006Well Stephanie, I think your author page is just wonderful. I love the fact that you are not shy to profess Jesus Christ as your best friend!!!He also is my best friend. I'm looking forward to reading some of your work here. GBY

Gate Keeper on October 10, 2006yeah.. haven't been on here much, I must admit. I don't really know why... I haven't had as much time as I used to, but I was thinking about it today, and I really do need to read/write some more. haha. I'm not taking an english class this semester, so I've kinda backed off the writing, but I still love it, and I need to write something soon. haha. Maybe this weekend... I have a 4 day weekend, so maybe I'll find some time then. :-)

Blood Wedding on June 5, 2006Kewls. Missionary in Spain? that must be fun. How would you say it..Venezuelan? That is pretty cool. Gosh, I've never even been out of the U.S. Even tho i'm like two hours away from mexico. It is one of summer plans tho. I really want to go to Guatemala, where my church is building an orphanage. That would be pretty sweet. Drama is so much fun!! We have a thing called One Act Play, which is pretty much a drama competetion. Love it!! Piano and singing..sweet. I love messing around on the piano, i don't know how to read the music. It's more of an listening by ear thing for me with the piano. Singing...i wish. I think i am actually getting better, but I have a long way to go. Love trying. Basketball, that is the sport of my town. We are basketball fanatics. Reason, no football. I use to lay football, was pretty good, but had to pick up basketball. I ain't too shabby, but I love it. Soccer, now that is a sport i wish i would have put more participation in.
Well, I look foward to reading more of your poems, and getting to know you. I love meeting fellow christians who are just as crazy about Jesus as I am. Talk to you laters!!

Gate Keeper on May 23, 2006your parents make chocolate chip pankakes too!?!?! that's awesome!! I thought we were the only family in pretty much the whole universe that did that, and it kinda stinks because then I go to other people's house and they have pankakes without choco chips, and I'm all spoiled... haha. hey, thanks for your help today, too! :-D I got home today and worked it a bit more, and I think I've got something down. :-D thanks!!

Gate Keeper on May 3, 2006yeah, I don't know what makes fairy tale stuff so cool... I think alot of it is just cause it leaves you so much liberty in using your imagination.. yeah, I've always been a big day-dreamer, so maybe that's why that stuff appeals to me. My problem is getting a good idea; once that's done, the rest comes easily. hmmm.....maybe if we combine our forces, we could get something awesome.... hahaha. and, for the record, I'd be more than happy for some company on that lake... I'd say it'd get pretty lonely if it was just me.. :-)

Gate Keeper on April 30, 2006yeah, actually rhythm is kinda a pet pieve (sp?) of mine when it comes to my own poetry... I can do free verse without a problem, but for some reason, it doesn't seem authentic if I don't have to work for it.. haha. so yeah, it doesn't necessarily come easily for me, but when I write, it's worth the extra time for me to make it right. and yeah, Elnd was just a place I invented in some unknown world. :-D as for a book, well, yes, my idea would be to maybe write a series of short(er) novels... kinda like the Chronicles of Narnia, or something. yeah, that would be really cool: sitting at a desk in the upstairs library of my house, with a fire in the fireplace, looking out a huge window overlooking the lake, and just writing..... haha. we'll see. :-)

Gate Keeper on April 3, 2006"Please try to be diplomatic," huh? sure thing. haha. I'll try and make this as diplomatic as possible. ;-D anyway, yeah, seriously, leave it to my sister to recruit.. she's gonna be a saleswoman one day, I tell ya.... but yeah, thanks for the comments; it made my day. :-D as I was reading through your stuff, I've decided I really like your haiku "Truly Singing" as well. good stuff, good stuff. :-D well, I'll see ya tomorrow!!

Mythtress on November 1, 2004I'm smiling. Thank you so much for my first AP award. It really means a lot to me. Smiles and God Bless. Betsy, also, thinks it is "cool" that her poem won an award. Congratulations on a successful completion of a great contest.

writer4him on September 2, 2004I love your nice long comments! The backround to your poem makes me sad. I mean, that's NOT the way churches should be, but I'm very glad you learned from it. It's encouraging when we can the see the good even in the bad. Don't worry about it being confusing. It was probably just me. Thanks

pooby on August 31, 2004thanks for your comment. I wrote this in about 5 minutes because I needed to put a jumble of things down. it happened. a pastor from a full gospel church did some strange things and the flock was simply mutilated. this happened three years ago and it took a long time to heal. This pastor would not talk to me although I tried with calls, letters and email--nothing--then this month this person came and refused to acknowledge any of the things that hurt so many people. Then this person got angry and tried to make me feel like I was the lost one and then zoomed right out again with the same abruptness as before. This was just a piece about how I saw God take a terrible thing and make something beatiful out of it. Sorry if it didn't make sense. I think we all put things on our page just to save it and since I have lost so much by weather, moves, computer crashes, incompatible disks in the past that I know what I put here will still be there if the house burns or a flood comes and so on. but feel free to comment any time.
