Yay someone else who likes Silent Hill I really like Melissa Williamson and Akira Yamaoka, I couldn't think of anyone else doing SH soundtracks. I think she also did some work in Ah My Goddess, which I watch occasionally...I didn't know she was a voice actress until recently. ^^

Ahhhhhhhh... *lets it wash over him* I love the Silent Hill series and I love it's soundtracks... especially Room of Angel. Melissa Williamson (AKA Mary McGlynn) has the best voice. Ah, the way she sings and her anime voice over work (especially Ghost in the Shell)... you could fall in love with that voice. *heart goes pitter pat*

Yeah he was really very good at both writing and speaking. He was easy to understand and very complex at the same time, he's one of my ultimate role models.

I think it was called the Power of Myth, but he has a book called the Power of Myth as well. I don't think it was titled by topic; if I remember correctly, it was quite comprehensive and he was all over the place. He was a wonderful speaker though -- very jovial and charismatic.

Sadly, I've only seen a few of the lectures. One of them was called Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth, but Id on't know if the series really had a name or if it was titled by topic.

I haven't seen any of the new printings, but I can imagine there is a wealth of information hidden away somewhere. Did you ever watch his video lectures? I forget the name of the series, but it was fabulous!

While i'm not crazy about the term 'homosexual' killers because these men obviously were not of normal sexuality to begin with so i think thier sexual orientation is a bit hard to define, although they did kill males...aka people of the same sex.

The story of Dahmer seemed particuarly horrific to me. I heard that he even masturbated while he tortured and killed animals. He drilled holes in his victims' heads in hopes of creating a 'zombie' lover. So it's completely insane to call Dahmer gay, and the police shouldn't have dismissed him and his injured boy as 'queers' if they would have arrested Dahmer then they could have saved the lives of at least four more children.

John Wayne Gacy Jr. was also nominated "Man of the Year" by the Springfield, Illinois chaper of the Jaycees. Moreover, he was photographed posing with First Lady Rosalynn Carter at a Democratic Party gathering in Chicago. (She autographed the picture and wrote Best Wishes.)

There's also Dean Corll, homosexual killer of 27 boys in Houston. Born on Christmas Eve 1939, he was known as "a quiet, reserved, and polite neighbour who seemed to enjoy the company of teenage boys, particularly that of David Brooks and Wayne Henley". The two teenagers grew to love Corll and said they would do nearly anything for him, including covering up for his murders. Corll would throw many wild parties where, after some boys had drunk or inhaled toxic fumes until unconscious, Corll would tie them up, molest and sodomize them. Eventually, he would kill them. One of these parties went very wrong, after Wayne brought a runaway girl to one of the parties, which enraged Corll ("You weren't supposed to bring any girl. Goddamn you, you ruined everything" he yelled). In the end, when Corll ordered Henley ro rape the girl, Wayne turned on him and killed Corll. Twenty-seven bodies were dug up, and the digging stopped there, having broken the record. There may have been other bodies in other locations and as Mary West, Corll's mother, said: "I cannot help but wonder if the digging would have stopped if the record had not been broken."

There's also Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered 17 males. As a child, he was curious about animal innards and began experimenting with their carcasses, collecting road kill and dissecting them in the forest near his house. During his lifetime, Dahmer had entered into sexual relations with underage boys, murdered, mummified body parts, practiced cannibalism and necrophilia, and experimented with corpses. At one point, a 14-year old almost escaped Dahmer; he ran to a police officer out on the street, who interrogated Dahmer. But Dahmer invented a story about quarrelling gay lovers and the police let him carry on. The boy was murdered. Eventually, one man escaped for good and went to the police. They searched the house and found photos, skulls, body parts and fleshy sludge in Dahmer’s apartment. The judge ordered a sentence of 937 years of prison (however, Dahmer was bludgeoned to death by a fellow inmate who had acquired a metal rod from the gym and who insisted he was serving God's will).

And voila. That's what I know on homosexual serial killers.
