Tqop on November 27Hi. It's painful for me to try to read the words on your homepage. Sorry.
-
piccola on March 18I take it you always self-publish? Is it worth it? I mean financially ... or are you published by anyone like Random House? I don't have the funds to self-publish and publishing poetry is tough so I just wondered.

Ava Noire on January 11, 2006Hello there. Thanks for all the recent comments on my haiku. I haven't written long. I took haikumonk's class, so that has enabled me to learn the form. Even still there is much to learn. I enjoy the form but its been awhile since I have had time to devote to writing more. I'm hoping that will change in a few weeks. But until then i'm on a break from writing and being around here much. Again thanks for your visits and I will try to return the favor as soon as I have a moment to think about something other than the numerous reports I have to write for school

Ava Noire on October 16, 2005Thanks!
I sure don't mind the compliments!
A cinquain is a 5 lined poem. For a traditional cinquain it follows a syllable pattern:
First line: 2 syllables
Second line: 4 syllables
Third line: 6 syllables
Fourth line: 8 syllables
Fifth line: 2 syllables
for the modern cinquain it is based on number of words per line:
First line: 1 word
2nd line: 2 words
3rd line: 3 words
fourth line: 4 words
fifth line 1 word
