    It isn't really a good thing to give up hope. Hope is the thing that keeps us going and makes us strive that things will get better. Without it, Most people would be lost in the darkness and fall into an abyss of sorrow and eventually eat a gun.

    On the other hand, sometimes when people lose hope, they'll find it again and become strong with it. It will make that person realize that they should of had hope.

    Lastly, In my personal experience. I have given up hope entirely. I believe that what ever happens happens and whining and self-harming yourself over it won't make it any better just make it worse(just a reference used to Self-harm so I'm not like I never did that but i know about it anyway.) I use it for a psychological trigger that whatever I do is some advancement. Since I'm pretty deep and i interpret stuff differently and i think differently than most, I came out with my own system. I wouldn't suggest you use this approach but since its hypothetical.. That doesn't matter which path i suggest.

    I guess just find out what makes you strong and use that and bend that function to your will.
