LeBrooke on August 23, 2005Ok, awesome! This play is so...original. A fresh, new outlook on playwriting!
The one part in the play where Adam is talking as he looks at the newspaper- I'd like to cut Ian and Irene's lines and make it a monologue, so it'll be as follows:
"ADAM
(Picks up newspaper, pauses) Do you think that death can make a person seem better than they really were?
Just listen for a sec will ya? Whenever you read an obituary- you never see “he drank too much” or “she wouldn’t listen to her children.” Is it really that every person who dies in the country is Angelic, godly, a real family oriented saint?
I’ve got eyes, I know that’s not the way things are, it’ll never be like that. People are imperfect, defective- hell exists for a reason, we can’t all be angels, because it just doesn’t work that way.
I’m not saying that there aren’t people in the world who are worth what’s written about them; just that everyone can’t be like that…
And David... I don’t know, he was a good guy, an amazing guy- I’m not going to deny that. Just these last few hours I’ve heard so many people tell me about this kid, this talented, charitable, openhearted kid who made the world a great place. But all this time, I’ve been thinking to myself- and call me a heartless bastard- but I’ve been thinking that Dave was great, he was one of my best friends- but he wasn’t that great. His presence didn’t make the world any better than it is."
Could I use that as a monologue?
And I would really like your email address- I have other things in mind for this play, too. I'm sending mine to you through an IM so everyone won't see it.
Thanks again!

LeBrooke on August 23, 2005I love your script- it is amazing!
Would you mind if I borrowed a monologue from it? I'll have to print the whole thing, but do you mind?
I'll also need your name so I know who to give credit to.
