Passed this morning through Tuscaloosa
Heading up interstate 65
Looking for Tyler, to eat her alive
Little brown body and stripes of black
Carefully planning his Tyler attack
Sharpening teeth as he travels the road
Heading for Cullman, to her abode.
Better watch out Alabama girl
His regiment flag is gonna unfurl
The small bushy tail will flip and curl
Better watch out Alabama girl
Attack chipmunks are bred in Ohio
And they often sing, oh why, oh why oh
That's a song that is sung up there
Thought I'd tell you so you'd be aware
Better go hide from the fury dude
Because I think he's sure in the mood
And teachers are what he's craving the most
He'll swallow you up - then be gone like a ghost.

kirbysman on May 20, 2005I'm in Illinois, and think I need to get back to normal, chatting and all that. Had a dream last night and you were in it. Listened to a religious station while I was driving yesterday and they were playing lots of old hymns and I was singing along - I know the base part to about 300 hymns I think so it was great. In the dream, Kathy and I had evidently gone to visit you because we were sitting in church with you and the pastor suddenly said, "We need some music. Would anyone like to get up and sing, solo or a group?" I jumped up and said that the 3 or us would love to. So, we sang Amazing Grace acapella and were ready for the second one when I woke up. Weird stuff.

kirbysman on May 16, 2005Just an update. Our daughter Sue is flying out and will fly Kathy back on Wednesday. Then I'll take off driving - ugh, by myself for about 1800 miles. Not particularly looking forward to that but not much choice. She's doing pretty well, not much pain or anything but having to use a walker and it tires her out fast.

kirbysman on May 14, 2005Hi Tyler, just a heads up to keep us in your prayers. Kathy fell while we were hiking today and broke her ankle. It's being operated on - pins, screws and a plate, etc. Hee hee, now we're trying to figure out how to get her 1800 miles back home. I'll keep you posted when I can.

Well truthfully I'm not quite sure what to say.. except thank you for all your kind words. Paul sent me a message on MSN saying that he'd mentioned my name to you and I thanked him for passing on my name because that's always nice to have done.. but I didn't actually think you would comment on everything you read! I got a comment on my Author Page, on a poem, short story and 7 chapters of The Way to Nowhere!!! I honestly couldn't believe my eyes and couldn't wait to read what you had to say. Thank you so much for your encouragement.. it's people like you (and Paul, to name another, who's been wonderful with me) who keep me writing and continuing to develop.
And, to answer the question you posted to me in the comment for Chapter 3.. yes, I'm sure I'm only 16 - until November 29th at least
