I am so sorry, dear heart. I know how you feel. I understand...I lost more than just half a story when my computer was trashed. (I actually lost several of them, and quite a few poems I don't have on paper or on A.P.) Neither one of us are going to be able to retrieve any of those things, so I can well empathize.

Don't feel pressured to write anything on my behalf. I am crying with you.

About that winter contest...I finally got another one started. This one is called "Snow White World" and if you're not feeling completely up to the task of writing new poetry (although I am not suggesting you aren't), the prewrite function is open. I wrote something new today, the very first poem I have managed this year. I hope my muse decides to go ahead and wake up. I'm tired of having to pay her hospital bills.

As for the novel, it is going well...I am writing a historical romance, about a privateer and a spy who thwart a plot to capture some of the Eastern Seaboard port cities in the summer of 1789. I have to go back and redo the beginning since my mother, in one of her frenzies, decided to throw away my computer (when the only thing not working was the monitor), but the rest of it is pretty much done. It's called The Sea Patriot. I'll send it to you via e-mail when I am finished.

Hi honey

I probably will have another contest about winter--I've had a few contest ideas, actually. One is to be a metaphysical contest dealing with gemstones. Another is a song parody idea, where you take a well-known song and make up a humorous version of it. I might do winter romance or winter desolation, I haven't made up my mind yet.

Autumn has been kind to me, or at least to my body. I lost 40 pounds--although because of the long, sleepless 40-hour round trip to Washington (D.C.) and back, I gained eight of them back. I am doing nothing but walking for the next two weeks! I am still trying to reclaim some rest but I think I'll be all right.

How are things your way? Oh, and when is your birthday? If I can afford to, I'll make you a bracelet or something. You have been so kind over the years.

Hey, the stupid mo-fo's at the big office blocked Xanga. So now all that i read are the ones that get sent to me every few days. Did you get a new e-mail address? because whenever i try to e-mail you, i don't hear anything back.
