hi,

i entered ur contest and just finished the poem...

Beyond lanes that disappear
In to the lonely corners
of my heart,
are tombs of memories.

I sit by the side, and smile,
when tears fall without permission.

And they think - watching from a distance -
I'm enjoying the monsoon rains.

I find that people in general will call you a freak no matter what... their minds cannot cope with anything "different" or that they can't understand so use labels for people

recon you have the best idea with the family thing there

I don't see why people cannot understand that... I've known people who started for the same reason before, usualy their reason evolves though, but still known people who started for that

Ye I know... a large proportion of my family are/were "f.u.c.k.e.r.s" to be honest

no... guess that makes sence in a way, like you were sick of being how everyone else wanted you to be? sort of felt as if they were indirectly running your life and that you always had to live up to their expectations? or something like that...

I basically stated because my father convinced me that I was evil and deserved punishing... but why I still do it I couldn't say

Well I really started coz I just wanted to prove a point that I am not always the smart reasonable one and that I can be my own person other then who everyone else wants me to be.

I started over 10 years ago... still hooked now

though few people keep going as long as I have I think... my advice would be to try to stop now, before it takes over completly

Cutting has been a real problem for me even if I only started 3 weeks ago, its just like I did it once and I have been hooked ever since

well i dont know, you have to have some inner strength if you got through that.
the only abuse i've gone through is sexual abuse, and that for me took so much to even start to function normally again.
i admire you for that, and look up to you because you still made it out alive, and your poetry amazes me.
