  • strangerideas on September 24, 2004
Yes, I was just told that this excellent poem I read a while back was actually by you. I had no idea. I should've associated the great piece about stalking to your name. Heh.
  • strangerideas on September 24, 2004
Excellent in the most potent way.

  • el desdichado on September 1, 2004
Yes, the poem on this page I wrote last summer. It's actually pretty different, I feel, from the more recent stuff I've been doing. For one, it rhymes. Thanks for noticing!
  • el desdichado on September 1, 2004
yeah sure, i'll join the group. definately. a lot of my poems do deal with my sexuality...some more obvious than others. thanks for the offer.
  • Innocentchoirboi on August 31, 2004
hey there! i saw that ur in the group GLBT. i have a proposal for you:
I have created a group called Gay Teens. i'm tired of hearing aobut people who have "been there" when i need support. i want people who are actually "there" in the same position as me. the group is only for teens and i want all members to post every poem they have relating to their sexuality. you seem like a person who would be a valuable addition to the group and i really hope you consider joining.

    numquam illigitime lacessit,
    ben

hi its me the author of dreams, I am so glad you pointed that out to me, I wrote that while the kids were getting ready for school and I wasn't focusing. I didn't see the spell check at the bottom of the screen...anyhoot, thank you and may GOD BLESS YOU...Sorry I always say that.
  • MuseStalker on August 31, 2004
There is another young poet on AP who amazes me with her talent and pure writing genius. You might want to check out her work. Her screen name is AshesToDiamond. Your work is phenomenal...particularly for one of your young years.
  • on August 31, 2004
Did you write the poem on your page?
  • el desdichado on August 30, 2004
Wow, a lot of people have asked me about this name. It cames from the French poem with the same name...the name itself is actually Spanish, and has a variety of interpretations, the most popular being "the disinherited" or "the dark one" or "the outcast", etc. Hopes this clears things up.
  • Huntress on August 29, 2004
I was wondering what does your name mean? You don't have to tell me but i am curious Huntress
  • browneyedgirl1 on August 29, 2004

  • on August 28, 2004
    you're 15?

    oh sweet, sweet god.

well, i guess i was faintly prophetic when i was 15 too, but it's long worn off

i go to college in the Amherst/Northhampton area, we should have lunch or something, or a firefly catching adventure, or something.
    anyway, you're fantastic. rock on.
  • knots untangled on August 26, 2004
oh wow, you live seriously like 20 or 30 minutes away from me! I live in Chelmsford, which is a town filled with rich kids that have nothing better to do with their money then get into trouble. We are middle class, so I know I'll never have as much money as them. But I have to say, I love my town, it may be pretty bad, but it's still mine, and it's a great place to have fun in! Even if it means getting in trouble!

  • el desdichado on August 25, 2004
I'm in the Boston area...specifically Newton. I don't like it all that much. The people are a bit snobbish--most have more money than I'll ever have, I think. But still, the school is cool and it has its fun moments. I like inner Boston more than the areas around Boston. Boston's just a great city. I love it.

The poem up there on your author's page is quite stunning.
"I love to crave things...until it has all but burned away to ashes" Sounds like me.

    Welcome to AP.

You are just as bored as I am, aren't you? I myself prefer Crispy Chicken. . . it tastes better. And isn't it the judge's job to decide what is literary merit? I don't know. . . I think I need more coffee. . . heh.
  • el desdichado on August 13, 2004
haha, contests are funny things...i just started my own, as you can probably see. and yeah, you're always hoping, in the back of your mind (of course), that the person who's judging is as intelligent and has as good a taste as yours...it's hard, sometimes, to judged purely on just literary merit. after all, who decided WHAT literary merit consists of? it's an endless cycle, much like the whole nature/nuture debate. but why worry which came frist, the chicken or the egg? both taste fine to me.

    I've been a member since the 8th. . . and I only have a bronze trophy. . . curse you El D!!!

You've only been a member of this site since the 9th and you already have a trophy! I knew from your post in our contest that you were a talented individual. Glad to have you here

i'm not sure if you got my reply to this comment, but i've just written a couple of poems in response to it. and i'd like to ask what exactly you would be doing to "help" equality, as you put it yourself. what, according to your rules (which i suppose, are better than everybody else's), qualifies as the right thing to do when dealing with these sometimes difficult issues? i hope that i have phrased that correctly enough for you, and if not, please tell me what is wrong and what is a contradication. and if your response isn't a bitch slap itself, then i don't know what it is. but i do know exactly what a hypocrite is.

in response to your letter on a VERY concerning topic: being gay.

I would like to start out and say that I really did like some of the ideas you came up with in your letter. Discrimination is not only worthless, but downright stupid. Our society has no more room for violence, especially when it is just pointless bickering between ourselves when there are far greater causes to put our focus on. But there are some discrepancies in your viewpoints. For starters, I noticed that you started ranting about how you hate it when people talk about you, and judge you for being gay. Now I personally, have nothing wrong with people that are different in their sexual interests. It doesn’t matter to me, just as long as you don’t try and force me to be like you. But in your letter you also started saying how pissed you are that nobody talks of these issues??? Didn’t you just say you don’t like it when we talk about these issues. I, personally thought there was nothing left to discuss, and therefore stuck my topics of conversation to things that are more current and important than why people discriminate. We all know why people discriminate, they don’t like people who are different, but that doesn’t mean that we can change their opinions by simply telling them to DISCUSS THEIR FEELINGS more. Also you kept mentioning how people keep being so politically correct. Is it politically correct to judge people for their differences??? I thought not. By politically correct, I assume you are talking about the “gentler” names that people come up with for other peoples differences. Funny how if people were actually being politically correct, they would stick with the factual terms, and not make up all of these rumors and stereotypes. And now that we are on stereotypes, you just made yourself one my friend. Your writing style not only sounded gay when read aloud, but it simply reflected the medias views on all gay people. Yes I know you don’t like fashion, but there are MANY other stereotypes out there. For instance, the phrase you used towards the end of your article “why we can't just call ourselves HUMAN” not only looks gay, but I couldn’t help reading it with a high-squeeky voice and a lisp. Also, when my good friend Hegira mentioned (and you also mentioned) having a gay guy slap another mans ass, he was not saying that all gay men want to do this, he was using it as an example. However, when I read your side of the story, I almost felt you bitch slap me through the computer for even thinking such a thing. Yet another stereotype fulfilled. I also have friends that are gay, and I don’t appreciate you speaking for all gay men, when you yourself follow MANY of the stereotypes. I would like you to take this time out now, and think about what you have done in helping all people who read this page to form EVEN MORE stereotypes and discrimination toward gay men after hearing the actual opinion of one. Thank you for all of your “help” toward equality.

ps. the phrase "gay" isnt helping anything. Why don't you try the term homosexual. That is the non-stereotypical way of stating the fact that you like other men. Thanks again.

Ok, I have not made it through ALL of your poetry quite yet, since you have so much on here, but I can honestly say you are truly talented! I'm going to keep reading...& I'm going to declare myself a fan & add you to my favorites. I love the fact that you don't really follow any forms, & you seem to write from the heart...2 things I do as well, though I don't think quite as well as you do. (Can you tell how impressed I am?!?) Anyways, I think your poetry is just incredible. Please keep writing!
