Without wanting to stir up controversy, I would suggest a couple of thoughts of my own engendering which get to the point, but are very, very difficult to achieve. The first is a definition :- "The deepest thought set down in simplest words".
The second is a mnemonic which can serve as a guide for metrical poetry :-MMM, standing for Meaning, Meter, Music

Please take care! I'm so sad to hear of your health problems.

THIS has got to be one of THE BEST write-ups on Sonnet that I have ever read.
You are a world of info.
"Also:
If you write sonnets, this is a must read for you:

THANK YOU. ~Pamela

comment about the dismal response to my recent contest...fits well with the theme of the write-up you have on your page. If you get a chance, would be honored if you would view my poems "Bloody Silence" and "Blood on Little Hands." My writing is simple and to the point, but sometimes carries a message. Checked out the human rights site and will likely join! This isn't the first time you have won a contest of mine. You are an inspiration, poet, with a very, very powerful pen. Peace. Jayne

I'm so glad I read your profile. The writing about not getting comments on the better poems has discouraged me. I have even deleted some & then thought , DUH
that was a good poem.
Hope you get to feeling better. I deal with chronic pain & it sux the lifeblood....yep it do.

"a poem begins in delight, and ends in wisdom", I would add "and passes through sadness..." have a good time a the health spa... (what were they called in Thomas Mann's "The Magic Mountain"... hmmm... where the ailing went for fresh air... something strange to the American ear... (I don't want to look it up... must exercise my brain...) emporium... no... sanitarium... no... something with a Euro flavor... (breaking down and looking it up...) "sanitorium" so... there's a book for you...

Hi Ecrivain, thanks for the message on my contest page. I'm to close it later today for Judging anyhow. Pity you weren't able to come up with an entry, but I might run others in future
Hope you've had a good Christmas (if you celebrate)and that your New Year will hold promise.

May the glow of stars always shine in your dark skies, may you always have the warmth of a roof and a full belly, may health drop on you like a mantle, dear poet!

Sandi Alford : Happy Holiday my friend! on December 25, 2008
It is the smallest package under the tree. Inside is a gift of love from me. Wrapped in wishes for the most blessed and prosperous Christmas ever and a wonderful 2009. Ribboned with prayer it lies quietly there, hoping you will find a blessing in it, this blessed Christmas.

Hello, Jim, How are you doing? Hope you're feeling well. Take care, Mary

Thankyou for sharing Sarah's life and legacy with me. Each time you do that you are keeping aflame all the candles she lit and you are lighting new ones yourself. Thankyou for the reminder of humility and that there are such unsung heroes who helped the world to be a better place.

Hi Ecrivain01 Guess what? You’ve been ambushed! The group, ‘The Poetic Bandits’ do something called Hood-Wink, where we all come together with one chosen poet and comment on their poetry. You were the chosen poet. Hope you were encouraged by this and found it to be a blessing. Keep up the great writing and thank you for your contributions through poetry on this site….
All the best...

You are such a great guy my friend, just had to tell you that. You have been such a help to me on AP. Thanks for everything.

YOUR PAGE IS VERY....SPARKLY
-
You have a superbly interesting page. I especially enjoyed that line about Picasso.
I read Desiderata and I think it's a nice piece; significant, and very lovely for what it is. I clicked the wikipedia link and seeing what his intended goal was, I think he derived that desire quite gracefully, and even beautifully. I'm not like him at all, and I wouldn't try to be, but I think that it, if possible, would be a sweet and delicate way to course a life. sorry, rambling..
I look forward to reading more of your work, it's pretty kick ass, to be sure.
peace.

Your author's page is very interesting'. I've read it all except for the two poems and I have to agree with the amount of people that write poetry to simply get kudos from the mass. People seem to think that this website is not for growing but for popularity and they make tha mistake right there. I don't bother much explaining because it's a majority.
I do think though that there are people on here who you can respect - so their opinion is taken into consideration. And I have found myself liking a poem simply because a certain few have liked it - as for my most applauded ones, I wonder whether I was on crack when I made it.

-
I like the idea about good writes recieving few comments, but maybe that is because I recieve few comments.
-
thank you for your comment...i was going to comment on your work but i really can't find one as they are all just great pieces...im also sorry to hear about you health but i really hope you get better i really look forward to reading your next piece of work!!

I lost my last message...lol in short I read through your page and I find you very interesting to read..I am sure you could hold an audience of people without them having to pay to listen and hear you.... many of us cannot do this... some of us have to pay their audience to listen, then they sometimes dont hear us...like when we have a room full of our therapists...(lol)

I am very sorry to hear about your health problems. I do wish you a speedy recovery. You do not know me but I just had to comment on your ap page. IT IS STUNNING!!!!

your pg is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the stars are awesome<3

J. D. I am so sorry your health hasn't been so great lately. I am getting old, too and mine is no walk in the park, but I love your page, and what you have to say about being inspired to write on your own, and not spoon fed by a contest! Though, I am guilty sometimes, of a dying muse, and find that I feel challenged by word prompts. I like to think if a poet writes well a photo is not an enhancement. Thanks for your email, and hope you stop by. "Shana"

and happy new year to you too !!!

I've been here several times before but I get a bit confused with a lot of sites. Nice job here. I hope you are doing well. Love and peace,
