    I like your prespective. I don't dress according to trends because most of the trends at my school are uncomfortable-looking, and I can't pull them off anyway. But if they work for you, thats cool.
    And yah, preps such as you do have different sides to them (most preps don't write poetry! ), and now that I think about it, everyone probably does. Clearly preps don't think about looks and boys 100% of the time, and jocks probably don't think about sports and girls all of the time, and nerds probably don't think about computers the entire time. We are all more that what we seem to people who don't know us well. You have to really know someone to see farther than skin deep, which is why people shouldn't judge others without getting to know them first.
    Now I sound sorta cliche. Whoops.

    No offense or insult taken. I respect your opinion, and respect even more the way you expressed it, so thank you for that.
    I am a prep in the sense that I dress "in style" and I do follow trends. Because of that factor, I have been looked down upon by some, because they believe all preps dress that way just to be accepted. That isn't why I dress the way I do. I dress this way and follow trends because it's what I want to do. I honestly think wearing half a shirt over a tank top with a belt around your waist and jeans with holes in them is cute. The things that I like to do and wear, and the fact that I am generally smiling or laughing [to remain optimistic as possible], put me in the category of "prep". But also in that category is the negative stereotypes--that they date for looks or because they want a good kisser. To be completely honest with you, only half of the preps I know are anything like that. I know a few girls who, if they find a guy attractive, will get to know him better to decide if he's worth their time. Yes, it started out as dating a guy for looks, but the bigger picture is so much more than that. There are a lot of things that go on in the background that most people don't see, and there's a different side to preps that most people never will see.
    I'm not sure how much sense that made, but that's my perspective on it.

    Just being happy about life does not mean you're a prep. I am perfectly happy about life (most of the time) and I am by no means a prep. I think that whether preps are good or bad depends on how you define the word. If you define the word "prep" as someone who is happy about life, well then it's certainly better than the alternative. If, however, you define the word "prep" as a total airhead who goes out with someone just because it's "cool" and follows trends just because everyone else does it, then it is a bad thing. And I think that how you should define the word depends upon who you're defining it for. I mean, if a girl is just a generally happy person who is very upbeat, I think you could call her a prep, but not in the bad sense of the word. However, if she is someone who dates guys just because they're hot and are good kissers, then you could call her a prep in the bad sense of the word. I do not know what kind of prep you and deathbyfrootloopsxx are, but I by no means am trying to insult you. I am just trying to say what I think. If I offend you, it is not because I tried.

    wow i read that thing about preps and it was pretty cuel im not really what u'd call a prep but i know the kinda crap that preps have to go through just cuz theyre happy bout life!! (i personally like and applaude preps cuz i am also christian and i respect that way of life and try to follow it) but anyways its good to find another person who's happy bout life. ttyl-Slim

    What happened was Colleen's ex b/f asked me out right when he was still upset over her. And it confused me, but Colleen threatened him cuz she knew he was only asking me out as a rebound. and now he won't even talk to me. I was going to tell him no anyway. So yeah.
