    hey. . . thanks for your lovely message. . .I came to visit your house. . .nice quote: "God will provide," I believe it is? Oh I totally agree. . . and I noticed "Magdalin's Map" - that was the first of your poems I ever read, many months ago - and I remember how much I like it. . . Hope you're well, poet - I will see you around!

    Hi Sweetie!
    I just wanted to let you know that I added a new piece to my poetry. It is song lyrics, but I thought that you might enjoy reading it. I hope that you will read and comment on it because I do enjoy your imput. Not to mention, I was thinking about you (and then you & Kurt) when I posted it. Of course, I think you will understamd why when you read the "Author's Note." I love you very much!

    Hi Sweetie!
    I know that the hour is growing late, but it has been a productive night. As a matter of fact, the entire day has been rather productive. I have submitted two other pieces since we spoke this morning. I sincerely hope that you will read and comment on them so that I will have the opportunity to discuss them with you. I love you very much!

    aack! the guestbook lied to me!! it says write about how great you are and you approve it before it posts... lol. me and technology, not so much. so in that case, I say, "DANNIE YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!" and disregard the first part of my other comment.
  • Shenanigans on February 12, 2007
    (feel free to delete this as a guestbook comment, even though you are a totally awesome and amazing human being.) my computer is going insane these days and freezes before my messages send (at least, thats what some people say.) When you get this, please let me know if you've gotten anything. I hope all is well with you. Ttys!! --Shannon

    Thank you for sponsoring the Gershwin contest! I am so delighted that I won! It was a thrill to see that you liked my poem! I grew up listening to Gershwin music. It is lovely music and I am honored to you thought I sounded even a little bit like that wonderful composer.

    nice to see you 'round again yesterday i would have said things were horrible...but today they're wonderful. nice how a few hours can change things sometimes. my academic advisor didn't want to put forth any effort/ya know like doing her job, so for the past two weeks she's been telling me b/c thery're not offering one of the last classes i need to gradute this spring that i'd have to wait 'til november and pay out of pocket since my scholarship is up in may....well a prof. friend told me to confront her about it and it took like a two minute phone call to the head of the department and graduation's back on. so today things are great
    i hope you've been well. ^hug^

    Dame,
    You'd be surpprised what people assume just because of your nationality. You see, I live in Portland, Maine, and just a few weeks ago, a new resident moved into my neighborhood. Now, first of all, I've lived here for years, and I've always thought everyone here were just as nice as can be. Apparently, I was wrong. You see, the new resident was Iraqi, and I immediatley made friends with him (he was very nice, in my opinion), though everyone else didn't. Everyone was just so cold to him, it's not surprising he moved away a 1 week exactly after he moved in. The worst part about it is that the man had a wife and kids, and the neighborhood children would just make fun ofhis kids kids so much...well, let's just say that those kids learned to watch what they say around me when I have a high-powered garden hose in the middle of Winter. But, my point is, people make a lot of assumptions based on appearance, though they shouldn't.

    What to give a lady of substance?
    One possessing depth of soul;
    Yet, has a light heart, sweet spirit.
    Hard to conjure, pockets have holes.

    But, wait!........

    If I were in New Orleans
    I'd look her up,
    that poetry queen.

    Give her a volume
    of most favored poems;
    some that remain unseen.

    Playful, with substance,
    youthful, yet wise,
    few men can posses
    they lack in her eyes...

    Faith, depth of character;
    gratification delayed
    Close to her family,
    true to herself remains.

    May the truth of the season, be with you always;
    Knowledge and faith, sustain you all of your days.
    And My wish for you?
    Love, peace, hope, charity, do find
    within a warm, serene place to reside.

    Happiness, Hope, Peace, and Love,
    D. Owen

    I was just in New Orleans. Actually, it was my first time in America (I'm Irish)....what a beautiful (but confusing) city. You have much to be proud of! It's a wonderful and intriguing place I would love to explore some more.
    Anywho, I just thought I'd stop on by, since I'm about to enter your contest.
    Cheers

    Nice to meet you!
