  • CelticQueen : I'm so glad you found me! on March 28, 2008
I've just read half a dozen of your poems, one after the other and only stopped because I've run out of time. I've not left comments, but I will. I just got involved in the reading for now.

I simply love your unique way of expressing a thought. Some of the British idioms I don't get, so I'll have to ask you about, but the general idea comes sailing right around the world. People are the same, no matter what our accents, right?

I'll be 60 next month - I get old this year - and I'd always said that for my 60th birthday I was going to adopt a British accent. However, now that it's here, I can't think how to do it. Perhaps you could teach me?

I look forward to getting to know you. I think I will like you rather a lot. celtic queen

I agree and I am not against the modern world either, I just don't want to lose touch with the deeper part of the human spirit. I do not know what I am, Pagan? Buddhist? Admirer of Jesus? I am not sure it matters. I have a hard time protecting my children as well, but I think it is cool that there are people like you in so many places in the world, that is my favorite thing about this site.

Stoneage - I can only concur with all you have said. I'm not against modern life per se, but I think we have lost touch with the ground/earth/soul of our world. I think if we could get back to that deep feeling and ignore 'religion' (social control) imposed on us by frightened men (among which I do not number you) then we would all be so much more wealthy of spirit. Some 'things' are just not that important. Raising children to be caring and careful is though, but as a parent I have to fight the big bad world out there to get my quiet point across!! xx chilli
  • stoneage on June 11, 2006
Yes, I think it is common in this world for people to feel that something is missing. People in the US belong to churches and say that they are religious but at the same time they say how unhappy they are. The dwindling light of spirituality is dying with the forests and meadows as homes and business pave over Eden. The last stone age people on the planet are being squeezed out of existence and with them the last drops of our spiritual connection to the earth. I am afraid that for some reason being left handed I tend to resist more that others or perhaps because I have read many psychologists who seem to back up my view. I will read more of your poems.

p.s. Haven't seen you on SharePoetry. I'm using that to refine stuff before bringing it over here. Have you taken a look?
