    I have many hobbies, yet writing isn't even one of them. I seldom write anything, but I struggle to occasionally because I like to write songs.

    You're hesitant to get close to people because of your past. You were dealt an unfortunate hand of cards in life, and your struggles and helplessness come from outside forces and people. This is why your poetry "is".

    I'm hesitant to get close to people because of my past.I was seemingly dealt a great hand of cards in life: happily married parents, friends and family who support me in anything I do - and yet I've experienced so much struggle and helplessness, all coming from within. And this is why my lyrics "are".

    Tiffany, i completely understand your expressive way of communicating and I so totally agree that poetry, books, anything actually that has to do with art and expression does NOT need to be complex, with 10 letter words or hidden meanings to be understood and loved and appreciated by the audience.
