    There was once a young poet named boz
    who at times gives this writer pause.
    Dylan he brought back to mind,
    Townes Van Zandt led me to find
    as I travelled the yellow brick road to OZ.




    TOWNES
    (an abreviated bio)

    Clearer than Dylan,
    impact as thrillin'
    lyrics travelling down the road
    hinting to me of Willy, in code.

    Groomed to be governor,
    running away as discerner,
    lyrics and music leading the way,
    for Townes had much to play and say.

    Living life with abandon,
    the music not done,
    unorthodoxy and brilliancy
    stolen too soon by a PE.
