    This Is a message.

you were either on Norman Crabtree's favourite list, or he was on yours.

This is to inform you of the tribute page that has been set up in his honour, it will hopefully be a celebration of his work, and will not focus on the negative aspects.

We would be grateful if you pass by, or give us your memories.

Any information can be obtained from us

Any tribute work would be gratefully received and cross referenced.

    Thank you Bretheren.

"This is a living changing portrait, not a proverbial tombstone."

    Hi Bowie,
I'm glad to have met you and your a page is very well presented. (The link color is hard to see for me) I read all of this and I like the optimismistic spirit you show. Yeah that song is hard hitting. I like it and even in "Someday" though the song is perfect, the rhymes are not but Howie Day in "Collide" said even the best fall down sometimes,
Even the wrong work seems to rhyme...

So that tells me with music, rhyming is not critical but to keep the song moving is. And it says something about our world not being perfect, but we do the best we can in spite of that reality.

I've been a well favored poet here some time ago, but now I write songs. I want so much to write really moving poetry. Thanks for noticing I skipped on things I used to stretch myself with when it comes to poetry, I should still respect it greatly like I do music. Happy Poetry Adventures To You Bowie! See you again.

Hello Bowie, please note that I have moved the deadline to the 18th for the 1st draft contest. I apologize for the protracted wait, but I really need to get more people to enter the contest before I judge it. Otherwise, the final draft competition will be pretty dull - and difficult to judge.

Ooohhhh yes, Mr. Castledine; I, personally, now suddenly have a great respect for your maturity and intelect just by seeing your comment here. Your choice of which four-letter word to use at the beginning showcases your vast vocabulary, your spelling and grammar gleam with the incredible level of education you've managed to obtain, and the astounding depth and constructiveness of your comments can only be compared with the intricate symbolism you used to indicate that the author somehow has managed to climb to greater heights of thought than is common to humanity! Oh yes, very, very mature of you indeed...

Hello bowie. I noticed that you have posted at least one story in the Science Fiction category (In the Land of the Soul). On account of that, I figured you might be interested in my new contest "Science fiction fair/workshop." I hold your imagination in esteem, and I would therefore be pleased to see a work of yours submitted in this contest. Please stop by and take a look at the contest's description. Thank you very much.

Right, I read your poem "It's Almost your Birthday" because I thought your name was in reference to David Bowie. He's my favorite artist, but I enjoy your main page as well because my family raises Tennessee Walking Horses professionally so I've grown up around them. I could ride before I could walk, and I hoep you are successful in your career.

Haha, I have to agree about the guys and makeup thing. It's a bit weird, but he was always a bit experimental with style, as well as music.Labyrinth was definitely a great movie. He also cameos in Zoolander, you should see it sometime. As for Douglas Adams, I also like the Holistic Detective Agency books. What are your favorites?
    Keep up the great poetry!

You know, another good Bowie is David Bowie. Have you ever heard of him? He may not be a hero like Jim Bowie was, but he is an excellent singer and musician.

I believe every memory is in the present tense,...... is it not????
  • Serenem on August 16, 2004
I came to your author's page to find out more about you, after entering your 'Memories' contest-- as you know and suggested it helps to know where your contest host 'is coming from', right?

Well, I stand impressed. You seem different from a lot of people your age-- (in a very good way)I like the things that you like and feel somewhat of a kindred spirit in you. I think that I loved horses from the moment I learned to breathe, from another lifetime, perhaps...

I like the fact that you hold Jim Bowie as a personal hero, an unusual, but worthy choice. Good for you!

And, I'm impressed with your poetry and other writings. The writer in me has to say that they need some work in regards with spelling and word choices, but you have TALENT-- the rest can be worked on and fixed. The important thing is that you have the soul of someone who loves the written word, and I applaud that heartily!

    Please keep writing, okay?

    Sincerely,

    Serenem

"but if your athiest, why bother trying to make others loose faith? I mean will the emptyness that awaits you feel bad that you don't believe? I really wonder about that, so if your reading this, which is realy cool of you, and your athiest pleas answer that. I wonder about it a lot."

wellll . . . . if you have faith . and god sees into your heart . . there is nothing that can make you not feel good . . therefore you choose to be that way for the sake of doing . .as you are already forgiven your sins
choice !! . . if you have faith. . then choice is the gift !!. . be as you wish to be . . blackness or light ?!. . live for you cause it doesnt matter. .
lol. . just reading a moment on some comment on gay marriage . . lol. .once again . .you choose what YOU think . . matters not that others make their own choices ?! . .
keep smiling anyways . . just thought i would have a rave with you
pst . . read on the buddhist ways of thinking . .very similar to christs. . jesus would have rejoiced to spend company with empathic people . . whom call "god" . .enlightenment . .?. . .opening more doors leads to knowledge unable to be seen with them closed
    ok . . chukles . . i go on . . ah. .

And probebly because you feel that way, you wouldn't understand the reason people are against it. Its not one of the things im real careing about, cause I think weather God see's the marriedge as being a marriedge or not should be left to God. I can never say for sure what God wants or doesn't want. I know there are a lot of people who are loudly against gays, im not really one of them. Some of my friends are gay. I think its a sin, but its no more sinful to christians then not being a christian, and I have friends that aren't christians either. Really this is an issue that I think the church might be taking a bit harshly. I think insted of going full out against gay marriedge they should consentrate on going against gay priests, seeing as the priests should at least be holy men who don't have wives much less husbands.
  • bloodykissez on August 12, 2004
honestly, I think you need to pull your head out of your ass on the whole gay marriage thing. All your life you are told to find the person you love and marry them, well how the fuck can you eliminate half of the population when you don't even know them? Serioulsy, you sounds like a nice person n shit, but what ever blows u p your skirt I guess, and unless you are gay (or bisexual, like me) You wouldn't understand the whole gay marriage thing, because I have found the person I love and she loves me and we would like to get married someday, but unforchunetly we can't because I'm a woman too!
  • Sandygram on August 3, 2004
Thanks for commenting on my poem. about the pickles. It was for a contest and you had to write about a mysterious barrel that washes ashore. It was a little dfiferent then my usual poems. I'll try anything once. Take care and thanks again.

it is true we are born with sin, "For we were all born sinners" but the fact that living in jesus christ saves us would seem to say that he created all with good already inside. A lot of places in teh bibel the holy spirit is refered to as a plant like thing. Witht he porper things it grows and we grow good, but with the imporper things we don't grow, or grow sicky and thin. but the seed of goodness is in there, waiting to be allowed to grow.
  • friendofsinners on August 2, 2004
we are all made with free will.... which can be good... but without the spirit of Christ there is no good influence... so... just for the record we are born with sin... and thru Jesus Christ we can become good...

    love you Bowie
    have a nice day

Romans 3:9-12 "Well then, are we jews in any better condition then the Gentiles? Not at all! I have already shown that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. As the scriptures say, "There is no one who is wise or worships God. All have turned away from God. They have all gone wrong;no one does what is right, not even one." This is from a part were the church is talking about a subject much like your poems. One man says that others are being evil, and the answer he recives is above.

Romans 3:24 But threw the gift of Jesus christ all are put right threw Jesus our lord.

The scriptures says God makes every child, "knitting them in the womb," If God makes us does that not mean that even if we choose to ignor it, God makes us with good deep down? Even Hitler was not wholely evil. though he was as close as any man has come.

bowie... hey... you seem to be a lovely girl... and if you have few friends because you are yourself then those friends are prolly your true friends... but about your cat... sometimes God does things that he only knows why... and sometimes he does them in hopes of us drawing closer to him... he knows so much more than we do... i am sorry about your cat... i have had a few die as well... i am an animal lover all the way... so i feel the hurt... but sometimes you have to draw close to the one that matters most when things get ruff...

    anyways....
    love you

  • friendofsinners on August 2, 2004
hey i was reading your user page and you said "I used to think that most people were good deep down, but im not so sure anymore. " well you are right.. they are not... romans 3:10 says there is none righteous, no not one... and romans 3:23 says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God... so there you go... your own bible says that all people are bad... and please don't become omish... love ya, stay in the light.. micheal
  • friendofsinners on August 2, 2004
hey dude, i just read your comment on my poem "counterfeit christians". you have a good point... and for that i am going to add you to my favorites list... but i have to clear something up... judging and identifying are two different things... if i was judging that would be bad... but i wasnt... if my brother lies to me... i can then call him a liar... why? because he lied... so to say people are holding their heads up and dressing nice and stuff is not judging but identifying... so but thanks for your comment... love you stay in the light

  • bowie on July 17, 2004
ahh, maybe your right. I guess in that way thier like christians, though they probebly would't like that. only they worry about the life, and christians worry about the soul. Basically the same thing though, when you get right down to it. Thanks for giving me a little insight, I always woundered about that.
