    oh, and some people think hermaphrodites share the same DNA characteristics as chimerics, but hermaphrodites are far more common and only have one DNA profile, like the rest of us.

    A chimera starts with a single embryo that has 2 DNA profiles, male-female, male-male, etc. A chimeric person isn't a siamese, and obviously not separate twins, but the individual carries 4 chains of DNA. I think there are a few dozen documented cases of chimeric persons. A chimeric tree is a normal looking tree with 2 different DNA profiles. I just made that name up though, I don't know if chimera applies to animals and still life. Hi Justine!
