Apologies for being a stranger. I moved back to Michigan (a place I hate and which makes me miserable) about a month ago. I have been looking for work but unsuccessful (not surprising considering this state has the highest unemployment rate in the nation). I still haven't been able to write, and honestly I wish I were living somewhere else right now, but since my folks are about to move to a new apartment it looks like I will be starved for cash awhile. But at this point I'd rather be dead than living in a place I despise.

Other than that...well, I'm alive. Lonely, desolate, and very low on faith, but alive, if that's any consolation.

I hope life is treating you better than that.

I have in mind to go today
as time has spent itself with me
and I have cast my lot among
the way it was and might have been,
to where the stars moves willingly
like heavenly flocks in chorus following
an astral shepherd's velvet call
to hills of dusky, verdant green
there to zenith, flare and fall
its brightest light as yet a gleam,
where that flash is look for me,
I have in mind to go and play.

I want to just say that although I have not been as active these days, I am happy to have been granted your friendship. It has been a turbulent holiday season. I am wondering (and seriously doubting) that the upcoming year will bring peace and prosperity (it seems to have been completely denied me this year). I hope that with 2007 a new door is opened that will allow light and love to enter your life.

I want to thank you for all the times you have encouraged me throughout this difficult and trying year. You are one of the few good men left in this world, it seems. It is my hope that one day I will meet--and be conjoined to--someone like you. (On the flip side of that, I am prepared for spinsterhood.)

I am not sure if you got my reply to your encouraging thing you wrote me, so I will just tell you again, it was a very amazing thing, but yours and my daddys stories are almosst identical, the only thing that wasn't the same was that he didn't ask them to leave, but I agree with you completely about the board, the board is there to encourage the man of God, not to tell him what to do. I will again thank you for your encouragement. oh and I love your Thomas Kincaid picture, he is mine and my sisters favorite artist.
