Saw the movie "Ray" the other evening and thought I'd let you know it was a good show. Well, that and love Ray Charles music. Check it out if you haven't already. Be well and heavenly ~ Ed

CAP is the civil Ari patrol the official air force auxillary they were started on december 1,1941 and are a nonprofit volunter organization that during war-perticularly WWII- fly costal/boarder patrols and help the some sections of the military train for war. There are three parts to CAP the cadet program, emergency services, and aerospace education. there not really all that bad a group, ok most of them are well disiplined and respectful teens who don't procrastinate and involved in their communities, know the value of team work, and who are some of the most all around good people you will ever meet....but then sometimes they are jerks especailly the people that I have to deal with but that is such a small minority that you have a greater chance of meeting jerks at the mall. Man i sure am having lots of problems with people lately huh? wow I need to find a hooby-other than drill- but that is what CAP is, adults can join as senior members as well as anyone over 12. noone will try to get you to join the military-like a recruiter or something- so mothers don't have to worry about that and they are just as excepting of us females as of any males. If you make the rank of cadet 2nd lietenant then you aslo get a step up in pay automaticly in the military around boot camp, and scholarships are availabe, plus it looks awsome on resemmes.I hope you have a nice day.

Hello! Just wanted to say thank you for your support of my poetry AND so great to find another "old-fashioned girl" who still writes with a pen - BRAVO to you woman!! That is the only way I can write too - I have to feel the pen (I almost typed men, lol) I will visit again to read some of your lovely poetry as well
    Take care!

Hello Aslanlight! Congratulations on the silver for "The Call of spring." I've heard it said that spring is the time of a young man's fancy in love, but your poem shows the heartfelt stirrings of the softer gender, as well. I think it is beautiful and has an old world feel to it, as if there should be ladies in waiting and knights in shining armour. If there is any time of year made just for fantasy, perhaps it is spring.
I see the dove here on you author's page. My daughter just took three ring neck doves as pets. Yesterday, a baby dove hatched (only an inch long!) and there is one more egg. It is the male dove who warms the nest. I hope they survive. They are so gentle!

Hey Ms. Light - just passing through long enough to say howdy and lovingly smack ya with a swipe of Rumi for the day...~ EZB

    One Song

What is praised is one, so the praise is one too,
    many jugs being poured

into a huge basin. All religions, all this singing,
    one song.

The differences are just illusion and vanity. Sunlight
    looks slightly different

on this wall than it does on that wall and a lot different
    on this other one, but

it is still one light. We have borrowed these clothes, these
    time-and-space personalities,

from a light, and when we praise, we pour them back in.

Hey, I've just read your author's page. Thanks by the way for the comments you gave me. I can now include your poems in the judging. I am about to close the contest because I now have about 35 poems to judge and there are some amazing ones! It's going to be hard! I live in Colchester at the moment, but I lived in Dubai for the majority of my memory life. By that, I mean I have most memories there. Well, it is nice to talk to someone on the site. I don't do it often. I have to go judge now. Good luck!
  • Living Passion on April 2, 2005
Thank you for your comment on my poem, I couldn't help but notice your name... Would that happen to be from the Chronicals of Narnia? Don't know if maybe you got 'Aslan' from somewhere else... I just know I love those books . I also noticed you had several quotes by Oscar Wilde on your page. Are you a fan of his writings? I have not read as much as I would like to eventually... But the Picture of Dorian Gray was basically a life changing experience!! I also am a bit old fashioned, I loved the bit about still writing with a pen. I cannot write an entire poem at the computer. It absolutely MUST be on paper first. You seem like an interesting person, perhaps very similar to myself. I shall check out some of your 'ramblings' God bless

wow! i really enjoy your poems and though i'm just an ill-mannered american, i thought i'd give a shout-out . you are a very skilled poet and i hope you continue. you also have excellent taste in quotes, authors, books, and poetry. as a fellow "Godfreak", i would like to know, is your screen name by any chance, taken from the chronicles of narnia, by c.s. lewis? i thought that anyone who enjoys tolkien and hurnard with a s/n of "aslanlight" was a bit much to be a coincidence. at any rate, keep up the good work, Peace, Love, and Empathy...

Thank You for the comment on my poem I Watched You...yes it was a horendous experiance...it took me a few days to actually settle from it..i was quite livid as he would mention no names....it is pure agony watching your children suffer from any malady either by the hands of others our by their own...and by the way...i found out from my son (after i posted this poem() that he was a willing participant in these shennanagins...he told me "Mom, I was just 14 and wasn't about to tell you that I willing took acid" ugh...the secrets we find out even many years later. I also wanted to make comment on one of your quotes on your author page..."I was working on the proofs of my poems all day. In the morning I put a comma in and in the evening I took it back out again.
Oscar Wilde"...that sounds so much like me...i have spent the last two nights going over my poems here...inserting ...'s and then taking them away...lol...the strange things we do to try to try to perfect our work..lol..anyways...just wanted to say thank you for the comment and your understanding of the situation...

Hi – I think that this is the first time I have ever come across quotes on an author page that made me laugh out loud – Thanks for that it’s a good start.
I’m originally from London – grew up in Cambridge but lived most of my life in the Far East- I still keep a home in UK and visit once or twice a year - when it is not raining cold. I’ll read some of your poetry over the coming days – Albert.
  • MargaretG on January 31, 2005
It looks like everyone loves your quotes, and I join their number. Well done, in collecting them all. My favorite has long been Oscar Wilde's about the comma.
  • BoughtTheTshirt on January 28, 2005
Hey ..... I am lovin some of the quotes on your author page.
"The author of this novel and all the characters mentioned in it are fictitious. There is no such city as Manchester.
    Howard Spring."

(I take umbrage at that, seeing as I was born in Manchester!)
This one is well...interesting I guess. I am born and raised in Manchester.

Anyway I read some of your poems and all I can say is "Big Respect!"

Some cool christian rock bands are: 12 stones (one of my fav) Project 86, Justifide, East West, Relient K (kinda) and P.O.D. (sometimes)
  • Elrenia on January 26, 2005
I love your quotes. At least they are entertaining. Most I read here are just nonsensical. And I am glad to see an active, if small, Christian presence. With all of the anti-Christ pieces floating around, I was beginning to wonder. When I get the chance, around working and writing, I intend to check out some of your items.
