lol, i don't know. I felt alive a couple of times before and that was thrilling. this, certainly isn't it. I wouldn't want it to be.
  • LovedIntoExistence on October 5, 2004
(Just a little note, you are alive.. otherwise you wouldn't be online right now... just thought I ought to mention that )

Artemisia, hello! I like what you say, for it parallels my own views. I also have been involved in Art (education) much of my life, holding Art Specialist qualifications and it is great to find others interested in art. A new computer art group has just formed--Three members so far. Perhaps you might look in to see if it appeals to you. If you can't find it, IM me.
Lit of course, or would we even be here? Philosophy is interesting if no one attempts to dominate rather than to persuade--if they disagree. My comment that bothered you was a product of my "opponent" who may (or may not) continue to bug me. S--Dee

Just thought I'd drop by your author page after engaging in several interesting discussions in the group 'in pursuit of truth'; you're one intelligent woman I'll give ya that! I think Plath was one of the greatest (and most disturbed) poets of the century-I did a paper on her for an english class once, and finished my evaluations by saying her poetry was 'so intensely personal it spoke for millions'. I tihkn Elm is one of the most amazing poems, along with Child. I see from the poets you list that you obviously have taste in literature; I'm impressed!

Yes, I am familiar with Artemisia Gentilischi. I minored in Art in college, and I love art (and music, and history, and....)
  • artemisia on March 12, 2004
    he baba ganoosh,
i love the name artemisia (if i ever have a daughter that'll be her name, lol). it's actually after Artemisia Gentilischi, a female baroque artist, my favorite.
always glad to meet someone who appreciates good taste in authors ^^. glad you stopped by.

LOVE your taste in authors! Anne Sexton really opened my eyes about writing poetry! And I love Camus. Especially "The Stranger"...I've even read it in French! (Had to, for French class in college. lol) I clicked on your name because I just thought "artemisia" was such a great screen name, and I'm glad I did...I will be looking forward to reading some of your poems! Est-ce que vous parlez le français, aussi?
  • artemisia on February 24, 2004

Thank you for reading my poems and granting me with your kind words.
In response to your comment on Clay....we let the masterpiece collapse, too....or, rather, I did, cause I was sick of picking up the pieces all by myself. Then when I let it all fall apart, he was the one crying. Oh well. We don't need them
  • artemisia on February 23, 2004
thanks nallelu. i really appreciate it! i enjoyed reading your poem. you have a great handle on rhythm and sounds.

Hey! I saw your comment on the discussion board about breaking up, and I am sorry to hear you had to go through that on Valentine's Day. I thought you brought up some very good points.
As for my "best" poem, I think one of my favorites is "Clay," which is listed in the "Antique Gallery" cause it's older, and one of my newer favorites is "Nothing." But my writing is so eclectic; one poem varies dramatically from the next, so it really depends on your taste.
My favorite poets on this site currently include Ocean Fever Fae, acidcrys, Birchwood, avoidsleep, and pinkmouthedgirl. I have lots of others on my list, but that should suffice for now
