Oh. Hi. Just was thinking about you and wanted to stop by the poem porch and say
oh. hi.
-
-
Thought I'd drop in to see more of your work. I absolutely love the background, I'm guessing your artwork?
Nehoo, your page is very inviting, and I suspect the poetry will be too, so I'll start making my way.

It is my pleasure to have brought back such memories of Paris for you I will give some of your writes a look asap. Noted on your page that you have an aviary full of tropical birds. I can not boast that , but I am slave to a blue and gold Macaw as well as a Timneh African gey. What a joy And I also gave refuge to a neglectd Beadd dragon whose foot has been chewed off by a cagemate at previous owners house. I am an animal lover , but within the last couple of years my zoo has dwindled down. Had to have two cats and my old faithful Siberian Husky euthanized due to age , arthritis , diabetes and it was obvious that there was no more quality of life left for them . But they will remain fond memories forever. Thx for stoping by and blessed be,
reenie

zara : playing catch-up on February 11, 2007
Enjoyed visiting several of your poems tonight. I'll come back; I'm particularly intrigued with the War series. My brain is ceasing to function well right now, though, so I'm off. Hope to catch you online soon.

This author is great because
1. He has a geniune Lust for all things Life though he seems to think he can't find that Lust in these January doldrums. I don't believe him.
2. He writes cool poems.
3. He paints like a mother fucker.
4. He rescues birds and feeds horses.
5. He gave his daughter a laptop for Christmas.
6. He is a really good human being.

David...just a quickie. I don't have much time, so wanted to let you know that I have not been able to get to work on your images, but will do so by next week. I haven't forgotten so don't feel miffed - you know how it can be with me. I promise to make it worth the wait. I'm cold, but there is a fire going in the other room, and a glass of brandy. My thoughts are with you on the farm in your studio...as always. Love, Lane

May I ask what kind of tropical birds you have? I do not have an aviary full ( might if I had the room ) but I am owned by a blue and gold MacCaw named Max, a Timneh Grey named Sam.....and have a bearded lizzard named Lizzie as well

Ohh that horse is beauuuutiful.
I work for a company that manages thoroughbred racing horses, but none of them are half as pretty as that one.

Pixie, kobold, elf, and sprite,
All are on their rounds tonight;
In the wan moon's silver ray,
Thrives their helter-skelter play.

Very early draft. Could call it first thoughts. . . .
Red like a slap across the face,
mad as scattered fruit,
the table is implied
and crawling with vines
that weave it to the wall
in memories of blue.
A rattan chair, a woman,
the question of who
had made the random mess
and who would clean it up.
Outside, winter whispers
in the tree. The grass is green.
Just so you know I hadn't forgotten.

I grew up with a propensity towards writing, but have always had a "yen" for art. Though you've done wonders with your writing, I still pine for some artistic talent. I'm in awe of your artwork.
-
David, your author page looks fantastic! Terrific upgrade.
-
I reeeeeally don't get your poems.
-
Hello David
Just visited your homepage. Your artwork is amazing! Thank you for sharing your artistic and poetic talents - wonderful!!

Hi David - I am a friend of WolfHeart's - just dropped in to see your page and read about you. You've done a great job on this - and I love your motto "Modigliani's ghost." I'm going to go read up on some of your poetry now - Toni

David ~ Where did you get the background for Sentimental Journey? I'm not crazy about the selection of backgrounds here and I want to find something new. Can you help me? By the way...insomnia AGAIN tonight. I am so exhausted, David. I wish I could turn off my brain...
Love,
Lane

Thanks for your kind words. Please feel free to check out some/any/all of my addtional works other than "Growl," as well as the websites mentioned on my myspace homepage (www.poetryslam.com, www.slamnation.com) if you are curious to seek out poetry slams near you.
poetryslam.com specifically has a link to a map of the U.S. fro there, if you click on your home state, you will get a full address listing of every slam in Georgia officially recognized by organizers of the The National Poetry Slam.
Offhand, I know for a fact there is at least one in Atlanta.
Also, please feel free to check out the website of my Spoken Word troupe Quarantine Unit at www.myspace.com/quarantineunit
Thanks again.

You mentioned looking at the works of others at Forked River. Where might I find such place. It may be overlooked in my getting late stupor.

uh... people. I meant people.
Oh, there's John Macandrew, I'll go bug him.

Looks like I missed you tonight. I like our late night encounters. Only other person online at night keep themselves cloaked. It's lonely and scary, yes it is.

that picture is wonderful

Nice to make your acquaintance! A once New Englander, huh? I'm guilty of still being one and I believe I always will be. So glad Mary sent you this way. Now I get to return the favor
