You are invited. Thought it's not really an invite contest...But what the hell. I'm promised a great read if I at least invite some great writers whom I enjoy.

    You good?

You know a couple of days ago I popped by and thought I need to catch up on reading you. Nice to see your name in my comments (synchronicity...). Now if I can find some time to read. =)

Hello. Recently I have decided to hold a
contest as an " Invite only ". I have been reading
your poems for quite awhile and thought this
would be a good way of getting to know you better
as a writer. I would very much appreciate an entry.
It will aid in the hope to extend my commenting
on other writers , Such as yourself.

    allpoetry.com/contest/1932350

    Thanks for your time .
    James

P.S. If you would not like your name
included on the contest list , Please IM me
and I'll remove it. I don't want to offend
anyone by this contest or make anyone
    uncomfortable.

    HI! 'Tis I PAUL!

Yeah... I made one too... I am not very poetic, though I really like writing, so sometimes a poem just pops out

Hmmmm, I really like what poetry I have read of yours. I shall read them all... for now I shall sleep... I think...

<3 <----yes, it is an emo heart...

PS. I am having the most difficult time understanding how to use this site...
  • bellerophon on October 1, 2005
Do not think because your poetry is personal that it becomes inferior. Yeats in his overwrought ramblings, is impressive, but it is pretty much eloquent bull shit. His poetry is completley inaccesible to the average reader of this or any century. Does he have the ability to forsee the end of the world? can he really better understand issues bigger than himself, as a member of some elite, than the average person? It is better to write about what you know, what personally affects you. It clarifies it in your mind and provides a main frame for thinking about your world.
Small does not equal insignificant. Infinity goes both ways, to the cosmic and microscopic. A quark is just as astounding to a scientist as a super nova. I could be bounded in a nutshell and count myself a king of infinite space.
  • bellerophon on September 7, 2005
It is an odd favorite poem. No that the poem isn't great, on the contrary the imagery of distruction is almost terrorfying, but it is absoloutly nothing like what I have read of the poetry you right. Your poems deal with true experiences, Yeats' with the rending of the cosmos. His is the terror of judgement, your poems contain the subtle fears of the mind. His style is formal, yours is inventive. The list goes on. So I am wondering does it have some personal significance to you? or does it speak to you on some other level? Why is your favorite poem so completly diferent from what you write?

I just read ".Dashed." and I LOVE it....I'll comment on it and the other poem I haven't commented on yet later, though...Because right now it is 3:00a.m. and, beyond the regular nonsense mannerisms I usually have at this hour, I am giddy and ridiculous. I can't think straight. Just know that I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read your new poem, Anne. I love it. I'll comment later, though. But know that I read it and I like it.

thanks for the great comment! glad to hear it was so close, sorry to hear I came out on the short end...lol. Now, in reply...
1)Ben Folds (Five) rocks. I know a guy that can play practically all his stuff on the piano and it's surprisingly and amazingly difficult. But yeah, he's amazing.
2)I'm so jealous of your Canadian-ness! You can't feel guilty now for not being able to vote lol, I'm a mess. Plus, I mean, you don't have Bush up there. At least not intentionally.
    3)Soul sucking gummy bear...I try.
I'll check out some of your stuff too, definately, thanks for adding me to your favorites!

What's that? You want to see all of the emoticons and have someone litter up your author page? OKAY! I'll do that for you!

Ahh, there! Now you have more litter for your questbook! No need to thank me.

anne! My poetry friend! Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments over the months. To tell you the truth, it feels so good to know someone out there is reading your poems and enjoying them, even in the slightest. It really helps me get through my day.
In any case, I wanted to thank you for being such a wonderful person. You've always been so nice and helpful to me. I wanted to thank you for that. Secondly, I wanted to apologize for not paying you back with all the comments on your poems you deserve. I've been so busy and I know it's no excuse. But, seeing as you've always been so supportive, I don't see why I haven't been. So, I figured I'd do what I should have done, pay you back with comments. I hope you don't mind, but I expect to be routinely commenting on your work from now on, as long as I'm able. Whether you like it or not.
    Bwahahahaha! XD
Thank you, thank you, thank you again! You're the best! ^..^
    Much love,
    yasai
PS. I'm hoping y'don't mind Ciao!

Although, of course, Simon was really a poor example to begin with. Simon is, after all, "strongly symbolic as a the most aspiring part of man's heart, and all that is beautiful, sensitive, and just." Or something like that. I forget now. See you later.

    -Ruth

I thought I'd said that I was going to STOP littering your author page?

    Pffft...I don't listen to myself.

    No, no you don't. I don't.

Good grief, now I'm sounding like I have multiple personality disorder.

    Which you don't. I mean, I don't.

    HA.
  • butterflyinflight on December 9, 2003
Right then. I think you're off your rocker, like Simon...No, not like Simon. I just think all that exam stuff is getting to your head and making you hysterical....But thanks for the comments on my author page and your re-reading of "Tase T. Lollipop and his Candy Eyes". However, I do have one question: why are re-reading my stuff when you haven't even read my recent ones yet?!? Well, some of them, anyways....

I hope that you get better soon, Anne....heeeheeehee...And I will be seeing you in like half an hour anyways, so I will now stop littering your author page with meaningless dribble....Although everything I write is mostly meaningless dribble anyways. So, either way, I depart.

    -Ruth

Thanks to you and Sarra I am now in danger of becoming addicted to yet another thing. But really, thanks for telling me about this site, it's really cool. I wish I had more comments though.
