SophieGL : Emily Dickenson on November 5, 2007Hello! I found your page after doing a google search on one of the lines in the emily dickenson poem you have posted. I'm writing a paper on it and thought that, while your question, about the period at the end of the first line was a good point, you might be interested to know it's actually a semi-colon in the official published version of the poem. You still bring up a valid idea though, that every mark on the page is important in poetry, even the punctuation. In this case, the semi-colon (while mechanically necessary) also implies that there is more to come; an entirely separate sentence that is related, but divided. Keep up the great work!

Well, there is the 'you' you think you are, there is the 'you' your friends believe you to be and each person who knows you creates another 'belief' of whom you are. truth is only true love will ever reveal to yourself whom you truly are, love of by another and love of you for you. Don't worry about opening that book until love finds you, true love that is. What you feel as true love now will change dramatically in a few years, it always does, for the better I might add.
