I am humbled and most esteemed at the gift I received on my BIRTHDAY! It was the most precious Birthday present I have received in 53 years. Seriously, I showed it to several people all at once as not to destroy a fiber. I don't know that I will take this to a curator, they may try to offer me something and there is no price great enough for me to part with something this wonderful. The ironic part of all of this is how it lends itself to the history my husband's family has managed to unearth concerning their genealogy. I will handle this prize with plastic gloves from now on and learn of ways to encase it myself. Maybe you could help me with that. I will not display it in my office but in my home. My fear would be vandals or thieves in the building away from my home. Here there is no way it could walk away.
I thank you so much Albert! It is easy to see the magnitude of your collections from the photograph you sent. Of course, I cried like a baby when I opened the envelopes. The newspaper is a treasure as well, and what a surprise to get it all on November 3, 2007. Again, my most fondest THANK YOU, and thank God for showing you where it should have its final place to be perched on its pedestal.
Blessings & Love Always ♥

Dear Albert,
I just watched/listened to your You Tube clip of Ankle Deep in Gold. WOW! Not only is that a very lovely poem - you have a most incredible voice! I love it. Somehow I wasn't expecting you to have an accent, but it makes sense that you do considering your background. You did an awesome job with the pictures as well. I am honored to know such an accomplished poet. Thanks for sharing that with us!

Dear Grandpa,
Can you help me do some research on 14th-century Northumbria? I would do it myself (it's for a novel I plan to write very soon) but have more immediate, pressing matters on my hand at the moment. I promise that when finished, I will let you read it. (I haven't completed the other one I mentioned yet.) I am sorry not to come around more often. Things are hectic and I am usually not in the best of spirits, as today, despite everything I do to just try and be happy.
I hope you have been well. How are the grandchildren?

-
Dear Albert,
Assalam Alaikum. I found your name from muslims group which both of us are its member. I’ve never seen someone from Hong Kong so it was such a surprise. By the way, I’m from Iran. Have you even been there? I ask you since you wrote you traveled to many countries. I know it must be interesting even though I never experienced it.
I just dropped by to say hello and nice having you on AP and muslim group

I haven't heard from you in an eternity and a half. Happy New Year (though I realize it is kinda late for such a greeting...) How are you? I do hope life is treating you well. I haven't much had the energy to write poetry, what with life being so turbulent and all. I have written a novel, though (it is almost complete) and will try my hand at poetry again whenever the inspiration hits (it seems to be vacated from my presence at the moment). I send vibes of love and respect your way. Take care.
Your prodigal granddaughter, Raven

agazeley : Music - I seem to march to a different drum. . . or somthing . . on January 25, 2007
I did switch the music on for a time – but like the old comment about Ex-President Gerald Ford who was once accused of being too stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time . . I find I am unable to read poetry and listen to music at the same time . . Hehe
So I switched it off again . . perhaps it is me - or perhaps I haven’t found the right tune to think with . . there are several types of poem on my page and they each require a different rhythm of thought. . .

Hello my friend!
I haven't seen you around for a while, I am glad to see you back, I've always enjoyed your work and your comments, my apologies if anything came across as chip-on-my-shoulderish. It wasn't intended that way, but since you mention it, I have been a little cross today. The nanny has been out sick since Tuesday, I have very active 2 and 4 year old boys. So I can't help but be a wee bit "techy"! lol! Best regards!

ps Did you notice the new feature under view options on the right when you're reading a poem, you can hide the background now! I thought that was an excellent aspect of the site's new software!

Albert, I appreciate the honesty in you and how you convey that in your words. You are priceless! I see you have done well in life and have battled issues of the heart with relentless vigor. I love seeing you smile like in the pic., and hope that happens often. Just know, even though I haven't been around much, that I appreciate your understanding and vigilance. That means more to me than you can imagine. You know life is hard and you know I've been keeping the flame lit best I can, and you have still taken the time to let me know that I am not alone. Thank you for that! One day, I believe, we will finally meet in person, us and loved ones, and I look forward to that time. May God bless you and yours and may you have a respite from whatever daunting trial you may be facing now. God brought me here, so here I am. Be blessed, Albert, and be strong. You are loved and so incredibly appreciated!--Kel

Thanks for the comment on my poem "If I Was God". I didn't intentionally try to make the poem look like a tree or the Lebanon flag, but thanks for noticing such a similarity. I appreciate the comment.

Hi Albert. I love the image above and the message as well. Human being have so many important factors in their lives that determine what they belive and how they see the world day to day... but there is one force that binds all, no matter what that force is named or what rituals are preformed to become closer... we are all created of the very same elements and possess the common desire to live.
s Mankind needs to learn a lesson once and for all... no man or land will ever heal at gunpoint or bomb threat and certainly doesn't make the bearer of the most intimidating, deadly weapons respected or right... only feared and doubted.
 s and best wishes... ~genie~

Hi. Came to yoy via a poem Renee had written - I really enjoyed looking over your page. You sound like a very interesting person - thoughtful, considerate. I will have to come back to read more of your poems. Right now I am off to get my van back from the garage- I drove around the last few days sounding like a harley instead of a ford LOL.

Hi Raven –
Well sometimes uneventful can be a blessing. . .there was much sad news for some over the holiday. . . so at least you are well and safe - thank goodness
But for me. . . whenever I want to brighten my day it is easy, I just click on your photo and smile back at my favorite poet –One day I will cut you out and put you on my Magic Carpet photo and we’ll fly around the poets world together – O’ what ecstasy ( I should add that on Magic Carpets and flying through The Poets Universe calories and age differences don’t count) –
Your forever friend - Albert.

Hello Grandpa,
Happy New Year! Of course I hadn't planned on being so late, but if you've ever been without a computer for days on end, you know how it is. I hope your family has been doing well, and wish you many blessings and benedictions for the year ahead. How was Christmas? Mine was...uneventful to the point of tedium, which is why I prefer not to speak of it.
~love always, Raven

I am back very briefly but had time to read "This World of Mine..." and a couple of others. All very inspiring!
I saw no mention of Kahlil Gibran? Is that significant?
-
Hello My Friend,
Just dropped by to wish you the most blessed New Year possible.
All My LOVE,
Renee
-
I just stopped by today
Hope you are having a wonderful day
That's festive and really gay
Because I would have it no other way
Champagne at midnight...bootie call,
watch our for St. Nick, he ain't that tall
Drink moderately so you don't fall
And if you're quesy--lean against the wall
What started out as a little note
Became a poem the size of a boat
My head is medically afloat
My dog has now turned into a goat
Happy Holidays Gregg
