    Hello dear!
Magandang umaga! Kumusta na man ka Inday? I've been thinking about hosting a contest for the Pinoys here but it seems most of them are not active anymore.
  • abernaith on April 27, 2006
Oh, that's just some crappy thing I couldn't alter. I just browsed through the country list by accident, and since I didn't choose anything, AP put USA for me by default. Kinda sucks.

    Thanks for the applause, btw.
  • Theasp on March 1, 2006
Sending another copy. Hus, Ann p, If this doesn't work will e file the whole thing.
  • abernaith on February 20, 2006
Wow, thanks for stopping by Dee.
  • catz on February 20, 2006
Lol... you sound like my kind of lady, abernaith. We seem to share some of the same interests...cats and reading, and obviously writing along with a few other little tidbits I read in your bio.

I'll be reading more of your poetry

    Dee

hi. just dropping by to say hello. Ang galing mong sumulat!
  • klassy lassy on January 12, 2006
I am so taken with what you write on this page. Your thoughts are so colorful. MASH was always one of my favs on TV. Unfortunately my husband didn't care for it, so I had to catch it on the sly whenever I could! I also had to smile at your comment on losing weight...sigh...the bane of my life! Have a happy new year. I need to get better acquainted with your poetry.

    My dear kabayan,
Wishing you and your family a prosperous New Year! I miss you! Hugs, Eris

Abernaith I would like to wish you and your loved ones the happiest of Christmas's and all the best in the New Year
  • abernaith on December 11, 2005
I'm a stolid fan of fantasy. Especially those long series. Currently finished 4 books on George R R Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire". Loved it completely. Wish there were more books like Wreaththu. But even that was no match to Mary Renault's classic "The Persian Boy". Huh. It's the one book that I don't mind fessin' up to be all 'weepy' and 'mushy-gushy' and stuff.
  • abernaith on December 11, 2005
Hi Annalise. oh dear, is a couple of weeks really that long? I'm sorry I took off without even a tat. But, well, here I am again. I've been hooked up with other stuff, you see. Sorry if I worried you. Looking forward to taking up that figurative pen again, and mayhaps writing a poem or two. Take care!
  • Annalise on December 8, 2005
Just wondering where you've disappeared to. . .

Hope to see you back, with something for me to read!

    Bestest of wishes

  • ShawnG on December 5, 2005
Omg abernaith, I read Wraithu as well... actually finished it about a month or so ago.... what a good read! I won't comment on anything in the book if you haven't finished it yet, but a veeeeeeeeeery good read it was... i'll be glad to have that one on the ol' book shelf.
  • bobthebuilder on November 23, 2005
i would definitely like to join your search party for a terry pratchett fan. i have only been reading terry pratchett for a couple of years, but it seems like i have for decades. I've only read about 7 or 8 books so far, but i hope to get more soon. Salud!
  • Airborne Ed on November 12, 2005
My sweet little kitten, You are so very sweet. Thank you for the warmth of your comment on Sex Kitten poem in the group. I am very happy that you enjoyed this poem and I hope I can have a few more for the group to truely enjoy. I hope the next one to come will make you purrrrr with satisfaction...
  • abernaith on October 23, 2005
Haha! Am tempted actually to start one. Set up a dummy account to open a group and whatnot. Might be worth it. Right now, am trying to coordinate with a few peeps on maybe opening up a group for Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman book lovers. A fanfiction group in Allpoetry isn't so far-fetched, since there's Storywrite to store the works. Hrm...let me think about it a few. Thanks for stopping by.
  • Taur-amandil on October 22, 2005
Hey! Yeah, I didn't think there were any slashers here at AP, but when I started posting some of my slash, I had more and more people dropping in to take a peek. Doesn't seem to be any slash groups or anything around here, though.
  • AbortMe on October 16, 2005
Abernaith, allow me to be straight with you in return. Until very recently the members of "Book Worms" had not given me much feedback at all. While I'm pleased that there has been this new rash of bibliophiles joining the group, it is taking some time to get used to this new flood. I'm glad you're taking such an active interest, but many of the current memebers are students and I think it would be more fitting to take all the changes you're suggesting slowly so we can carefully plan this so everyone can be included. If you're in a rush, you may want to start your own club with those qualifications/activities in mind. You're welcome to stay, but please be patient. Book Worms is more leisurely so that people can enjoy reading and discussing without feeling pressured. If you have any more ideas/suggestions, feel free to IM me.

i've been meaning to read The Color of Magic again, because i loved it so much, but seeing as how there are other Rincewind books out there, i may have to go on a hunt for them. ^^ the potentially slashable books also caught my interest. there's just so much i need to read and not enough time to read it all...

but have fun with As Meat Loves Salt. ^^ just a warning though: it's depressing like woah, so have some tissues or humourous fanfiction or both ready when you finish it. it's got it's good parts (and it's extremely good parts) but... tissues: get them.
  • wbiro on October 5, 2005
Ohhhhhh, yes, Ms. fanfiction! lol Well, thanks for reading OK Eliot, and nice to hear from you again! !
  • Ahou on October 5, 2005
lol, same here. i logged on to AP this morning and practically started flailing. ^^

my email's becbet@msn.com. huzzah contraband! but it's pretty much been the opposite for me; LJ's been eating up my time, and i've been neglecting AP...(i go through cycles of obsession...) but i'm definitely looking up your writings now...and irisbleu, as i'm always up for more GO fics. ^^

and YES *spazzes* i am so in love with American Gods! and the canon slash chapter! (it made my entire year...) Neil Gaiman's one of my favorite authors.

both Bleach and Death Note are two i've been trying to get my hands on, but i never have any money. (my brother's best friend has, like, fifty million Bleach manga all over his room, but i keep forgetting to ask him for them...) right now, though, what i'm really wanting is Saiyuki and Mirage of Blaze manga, but they both cost teh monies...and the second hasn't even been released in the US... *sobs*

i know! poor, old Johnny Depp...makes me sad...

and i've only ever read one of the Discworld books, The Color of Magic, but i loved it. ^^ a friend keeps pressuring me to get more, but there's already so many books i need to read...nyehhh. but yes! Alan Rickman! i don't read much HP (stopped after the fourth book) but i always loved that pairing.

i've never really liked 1/2 that much either...i've always slashed Duo with Wufei. ^^ (i love Wufei...) i know there's got to be a het pairing out there somewhere that i like, but i honestly can't think of any, at the moment...

but, yay! i also pronounce you my new best AP friend. i don't think i've ever had so much in common with a complete stranger before, lol. ish uncanny...
  • abernaith on October 5, 2005
Pedro. By my troth, a good song.

Just read Balthasar's song again...And it went R&B/Pop on me. Think: Destiny's Child, "Independent Women". Lol!

Little f.y.i. Did you know you can download the entire works of Shakespeare (all his writings that are public really) in Project Gutenberg?

Thank goodness someone finally got why I put 138 on my age! My Gulay! And it's a kababayan too. So honored you visited.
  • pepperella on October 5, 2005
yep. i definitely know why you're 138 years old

and if you're that, then i am Balthazar's song (Much Ado About Nothing)
  • abernaith on October 5, 2005
OMFG I'm going into spastic fangirl mode!

    O__o

Gimme your email and I'm giving (*cough* *cough* contraband *cough*) all the Beauty books, plus more, to you. Ever since AP ate up my time, I haven't been to my LJ (I've been neglecting it for a month now... ) But I'll try to get back to it soon. You can check out my fanfic attempts..v. few in ff.net or skyehawke or in my lj. I suppose you know lower_tadfield...and I suppose you lurk there, so that I will assume you know irisbleu. She's a cool friend (well, we became friends co'z of poetry, pre-AP) and she writes the COOLEST GO fics EVAH. Are you a Gaiman fan? Have you read American Gods? If not, *nudge* *nudge* but what I really want you to read is the insert chapter right smack in the middle of the book which has absolutely no relevance to the plot but is An Absolute Must For Any Slash Fan!!! (OMG it's canon slash! Aaaaah! And Gaiman wrote it! Aaaaah!)

Never got the hang of Fruits Basket. Currently, am only watching out for manga scanlations of Bleach and One Piece. Used to dig Death Note, until they killed off the main "good" guy. AARGH!!! >.<

    AND YOU LOVE JOHNNY DEPP!
    I LOVE JOHNNY DEPP!
    I DO! I DO! I DO!

(Oh, God, he's gonna be an official geriatric pretty soon...Oh, God. The best I can hope for is to be his nurse/maid/personal assistant hahahaha!!!)

I'm a V/V slash fan too. It's the only Discworld pairing I abide by. I luv luv Rincewind, but he's a free spirit really. The only HP pairing I stand by is SS/RL. I luv luv Snape (and Alan Rickman, by extension). And in my anime days, the only character that ever stuck to me for good (still does, even now) is Heero Yuy of GW. O.o But I'm not a 1/2 fan. In fact, I like Heero Yuy and Rei Ayanami! The ONLY het pairing I abide by.

Ever since AP, sadly, I've neglected my "fan duties". Sigh. Big sigh. But now, you're here! And you're my new best friend in AP.

    So, whaddya say?

  • Ahou on October 4, 2005
omigod, i can't see how i missed this before but: Johnny Depp. i try not to have favorites of anything, because i love so many things, but Johnny Depp is pretty much The Best Actor.

also... i see you've got a LiveJournal. ^^ i think i'm going to friend you... i'm becbet on LJ, by the way, just so you know who it is who's friending you, lol.

Thank you for the comment, Down-Falen is a song that is not-yet finished.
  • ApostleOfDeath on September 28, 2005
Abernaith... All that time and I found out that I have not signed your guestbook...LoL!
Just want to say that you are a wonderful person and my one "teacher" and guide here in AP. Don't know how to thank you enough for helping me with my contest (damn, you did 80% of the job! ) and for being so patient and constant when criticizing my works.

    Yours, Apostle.

Want to know the secret of my -youthful- long life?

    *chocolate*

Lol! No, it's only a joke. The age is inspired by Shakespeare's sonnet #138. Maybe if you read it, you'll know why...

Have a nice day, vic. Thanks for stopping by.
  • eternalpoet on September 24, 2005

  • abernaith on September 13, 2005
Thanks for visiting me here. 100 years of solitude is a favorite of mine. One character there reaches out to me above all, the old maid... I have yet to read Love in the Time of Cholera ( It may seem like I can read Spanish...my native language is a derivative of old Spanish. But I can only comprehend some words, and the rest is just through context. ) I will investigate the link you have given me promptly.

Feel free to check out my works, although I write in a variety of subjects...I am rebellious and eclectic by nature. You may discover something you like in my earlier works though. I should like to recommend "Dreaming Simple Machines", or perhaps "Who By Daylight". Have a good day.

I love Garcia Marquez. Read 100 Years about three times in Spanish. Another good one of his is El Amor en los Tiempos de Cólera. What a love story!
The link below is of Mario Benedetti!I think he is from Uraguay!
Hope you read Spanish!LOL If not, I'm sorry!
Nice page here. Will be back to peruse some of your things as time permits!

    Regards,
    John

He's a kind soul. Well, I see it's not in the featured box anymore...so I feared the worst, but this explains it.
  • piccola on September 12, 2005
That happens (my beach boys poem) Its my mac .. Kirbyman usually fixes it for me.
  • abernaith on September 12, 2005
LOL! Thanks for visiting here. Philosophy of Punctuation is my "quasi-ravings", lamenting the degradation of punctuation marks in the written word today. I purposely wrote them that way so I can laugh at my woes. *sigh*
  • Daniela Violin on September 11, 2005
Sorry I haven't been reading much of your stuff... I just went through your columns on "The Philosophy of Punctuation" and I have to say they are AWESOME! Great work!
  • abernaith on September 11, 2005
Wow, thanks for visiting. I'm flattered that you like my work.

Poisonwood Bible is in my reading list...the pending one, since I have yet to get a hold of a copy. It would be my first Kingsolver novel. I've got lots more writers I wanted to put up in this page...but I'm reluctant to touch my profile because I don't want to lose the html format. Argh!

    Well, see you around.
  • MrsPepper on September 11, 2005
I really like this page too. Hey i looked you up because Your Style is so positive -- Which we really need more of in this God Foresaken Planet. I can't wait to read more of your work. I aspire to you!!

By the way, ever read any of Barbara Kingsolver's work?
Right now I am reading the Poisenwood Bible.

  • abernaith on September 9, 2005
Thank you. Glad you visited my page and liked what you saw. I made it that way, esp. because I go to this page all the time. I must confess though that I daren't touch the profile section...as I would definitely lose its html formatting should I make the slightest change... *sigh* For shame that I want to update some stuff, esp. the "Currently Reading" part more often.
  • abernaith on September 9, 2005
Hey, thanks for visiting. Good luck with your adventures into my poetry...I'm afraid it's all an eclectic mix, I do a variety of subjects, styles and forms. I'm v. glad you read Snow Glass Apples. I love Neil Gaiman, and love to pimp his works to other folks.
  • Theater Of Dreams on September 9, 2005
I love the page design!!! All the colours and interesting factoids! great job!
  • unnamed1 on September 9, 2005
Hi there, I just wanted to let you know, I like your author page. Oh, and perhaps I will check back by to read more of your writes as time permits. As Snow White In a Dark Forest was really good. So, yes, I googled up Snow, Glass, and Apples. I must say that was eerie to me. However, the different twist was refreshing. Will have to re-read it.
