Viva La Vie Boheme on August 2, 2007Hi there Walking Shadow!

Guess what? You’ve been ambushed!!!
The group, ‘The Poetic Bandits’ do something called Hood-Wink, where we all come together for a chosen poet and comment on their poetry. You were this week's chosen poet! I really hope that you were encouraged by this and found it to be a blessing. Keep up the great writing and thank you for your contributions through poetry on this wonderful site.
All the best...

Walking shadow on October 18, 2006I agree. The system is differnt for Native peoples. It makes it hard for them to ajust to a consumerist society. I believe they need to ratain their own culture and be more able to contribute to their own people.
Money is not everything but in western societies money is everything. If you have none you have no influence. If you have a lot you can buy off elections.
Money talks. That is how the world works. -
backlog on September 22, 2006The aboriginal people are given the same opportunities as everyone else, the problem is that we do not cater to their society - which is largely based on communism. The problem lies where not everyone in a family will be willing to work - because once all the income is put into the communal pool, those on wellfare and those actually working receive the same share of the goods.
I don't know enough about economics or politics to suggest a solution, but there has to be some way of improving things. -
Walking shadow on September 22, 2006There is always two sides to a story. I take the time to read carefully over what people have to say. I don't mind being called a Bu$h basher. The guy sickens me.
As far as the aborigonials of Australia go they should give them the choice to choose what way they want to go. We have many issues here in the states about American Indians. We have over 500 tribes and they all wish to have soveriegnty. It is a huge issue where I am at. I live in Oregon. We have about nine federally recognized tribes here.
I am so tired of Tony Blair, Bu$h and Howard. Ohh they are sick people. I get bashed all the time for opposing the war in Iraq. I am strongly against the war. -
backlog on September 17, 2006Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
To be honest, I didn't expect anyone to (openly) sympathise with my viewpoint, so thank-you for taking the time to read, and make a thoughtful response.
So far I've only received an irate IM from someone who got to the second paragraph and was too disgusted to read on.
I have it lucky in Australia, I know that. There's just something comforting - even if we are taxed heavily for it - just knowing that no-one is starving, and everyone has shelter. Our main short-coming is a section of the aboriginal population, we have never properly helped get back on their feet and/or assimilate. -
Walking shadow on September 15, 2006Thank you very much! Keep the prayers coming. My mom is doing better!

Interminable on July 17, 2006I have only just noticed you have added me to your favourites list and hadn't checked out much your work, so decided to do so. I really like your ideas and expression, direct with a calming flow. Thank you very much for sharing.
Nice to see another C2C listener too, don't have much time to listen these days but have an archive of downloads to get through. Someone introduced me to the show a few years back and it really did open my eyes to questioning what is so commonly accepted. Helped me follow my path to discover my own perceptual truth about the world and led me to read, learn and understand various subjects I wouldn't have previously considered. The unity project sounds like an important, and sadly, much needed endeavour. Good luck.
I look forward to reading some more of your work when time permits. Thank you. -
Walking shadow on July 4, 2006lol We all sometimes send something by accident. There is a yearly powwow here in Eugene, Oregon and it is growing like a weed. It is a holiday powwow around Christmas time. Boy it is a lot of fun. We go out and have a great time.
I eat frybread, dance and just kick back and have a blast.
There is a summertime powwow but it is in a town some twenty miles away. I am going to attempt to get to it this year.
Have fun. -

Walking shadow on June 23, 2006I am not out for fame and riches, nore do I seek every honor in the world. I do this to uplift others. It is very rare to have people who stand up and take what it takes to help others and help themselves as well.
I am learning to balance both my time and resources to assist others and myself at the sametime.
A hero is a firefighter, the cart pusher at a local supermarket, the mailman and many more. just plain ordinary folks like me. They are the ones who need an uplifting message. -

superstition on May 30, 2006Thank you for stopping by my site.
I sound like I'm a lot like you...I don't have rules to my writing, I do everything at night, and I have always found interest in Native Americans and their customs. As for the paranormal, I've had a few of my own strange encounters that shaped me to believe more and more as well. So many of us cast out the ideas of something that we don't understand, but that just engages me even more. lol.
You're a wonderful poet yourself. Best wishes to you. -
