I like the way you think. I am a Christian. I like the way you think, though. I am intrigued.

Well I'll have to point my bf's attention to that source as well, since we're most familiar with the lyrics that quote "life feeds on life" from Tool's "song" Disgustipated... actually it's a piece where he's imitating a preacher, then it becomes this crazy story that sounds like a trip report.

The quote is from " An Exploration of Dark Paganism and Magick"

“Evil is a human term. It begins and ands with us. A tornado is not evil yet destructive. Fire can be used to benefit life or destroy it. Nature is neither good nor evil; it simply is. It follows no moral code, it has no internal motive. Only humans with our complicated set of emotions and intellect can justify such categorizations.
Death, destruction, chaos… these are essential diving forces within nature. Life feeds on life; destruction precedes creation. These are the only true laws, and they are not open to interpretation.” -- John Coughfin

You've got a gift for pissing people off. Bravo!

I appreciate your comment. However, I have previously held pro-gay/anti-gay contests without religion involved, so I've heard that. I happen to believe in a larger intety, and am looking for new opinions on that matter. Thank you for your input, though, I'll let you know next time another contest minus religion comes around.

Pagans don't necessarily believe in spiritual beings and believing in spiritual beings doesn't conflict with atheism. Atheists can believe in ghosts, pixies, faeries, demons, angels, etc. - so long as they do not believe in any gods, they're still an atheist.

You assume more than you actually know. I don't care one way or the other about your "spiritual path". That's your business. I was just pointing out that "Witches" and "Pagans" (dark or not) as a group believe in Spiritual Beings.... therefore if you identify with those groups, you are claiming to believe.... and if you don't believe, then you are mis-using the labels.
  • Vashen on June 9, 2005
I am sorry but it is way to complex to explain to a christian. To make it short spirituality has nothing to do with religion. Religion is a system of control while spirituality is internal balance. I am dark pagan, and my path is unique, it does not require belief into supernatural beings of any sort.

Just because your feeble mind can not grasp the concept it does not imply that I am confused or unsure of who I am.

" I am a witch, a dark pagan to be exact, with an ancient soul. I am spiritual but not religious. I do not believe in gods or goddesses as beings, so I am also an Atheist."

This statement is self contradictory. By definition.... even according to Wiccan, Satanist, and older Pagan texts.... "Witches" and "Pagans" are believers in Spiritual Beings of various sorts. So you can either be a Witch and a Pagan OR an athiest, but not both.

Of course you are within your rights to believe whatever you choose...... but your inconsistency seems to indicate that you yourself don't even know the basics of that which you profess to believe.

just read 'burning times', excellent poem! i totally agree! i entered your latest contest! My poem 'hollow skin woman' its more about the source of destructive forces, but it stills hows the power of destructive forces! thanks, fire within

And that my friend is where it starts and ends with each of us... just some of us are too fear-filled to address that varity because then we would have no Gods or Demons on which to blame our manifest thoughts but ourselves. Can you imagine what it would be like if eveyone on the planet accepted personal responsibility for their reality? LORD.... praise someone's God if it could in fact ever transpire... lol

“Out of sheer curiosity, I'd like to hear about the standards of your religion. It's origins, practices, customs. It's funny how many different answers I get when I ask that question. I'd like to be proven wrong (and hey, it wouldn't be the first time). “

What makes you think I belong to any religion? Religions are systems of control, and to become part of one is to deny myself my freedom. The definition of a dark path is that you walk it alone… I like certain aspects of paganism that I incorporate in my belief-system, nevertheless I do not follow any written guidelines or worship any gods. I walk my own path, I make my own rules, I create my own customs and practices… As for origins it starts and ends with me.

So many Wiccans here! Such a novelty Im one of two in my town not good. Debating Christianity is good fun, especially when they think you're one of them, and can't understand why you're siding with the 'satanists'. Heehee!
Anyways. Im gonna have a read now.
    Blessed Be

You seem very dark, which for some odd reason I am attracted to like a bug to a light. lol. Anyway, you have attitude, which most people don't have, I, if you have no objections, would like to read some of your work.

    Heh heh. Adult.

Out of sheer curiosity, I'd like to hear about the standards of your religion. It's origins, practices, customs. It's funny how many different answers I get when I ask that question. I'd like to be proven wrong (and hey, it wouldn't be the first time).

  • Forgotten Lilith on August 11, 2004

my family line is wiccan...we go back to very early time...the town herrin in germany which is by the black forest...herrin is my last name which means mistress...it is the german gaelic..its not evil wicca..just dark...not saying that you are wiccan because there is a difference between pagan and wiccan even though wicca is pagan, pagan is not nessicarily wiccan

A dark pagan - that's really interesting. I have a new friend who is an old soul, as you say, and I am learning a lot of new and interesting things from her. How interesting to be twice-born. I'd love to learn more about dark paganism.
