    I know you get sad
    I know you get angry
    I know you feel like you could cry.
    I know all these feelings
    when you feel them i feel them too
    and even in the muck that drags us down
    you bring light into my soul
    and the sacrifice that shows me
    that people are capable
    that if you can find it in your heart to love me
    that maybe i've done something right for once
    and this isn't a complete waste of time
    and even if they all deserve to perish
    that for one lifetime
    in a world of darkness
    you light my path
    and showed me what it really means
    to love.
    and to know love.
    and to know the frustration of the hate
    this world perpetuates
    when they are all capable of what we share.
    so what if the world sucks itself in
    so what if the sun no longer shines or
    the moon no longer lights the night
    so what if the bombs come over our mountains
    our land, our home
    if i must endure this hate to be with you
    i say anytime, anyplace
    nothing will keep me from you
    no man
    no creature
    no amount of hate
    and nothing will dim the light
    the love you shine on me.
