saartha on May 29, 2007You only think they make your poems run smoothly =P Seriously, I don't hate ellipses, I just hate them when used in excess.
New poetry ideas, huh? I can do that. To start with, let's get away from the clichés you normally employ. I want you to write a poem that isn't about lost/unreturned love, despair or depression, or suicide/death. These are now taboo subjects for you. TABOO, I SAY!
Instead, let's go for something you normally wouldn't right about. To get you started, let's find a topic... Hrm. Oh, I know. Let's get out some of your anger about your father onto paper. HOWEVER: do not give me specific details. I know the story, you know the story, but the reader DOES NOT need to know the story. I want you to be able to express your frustration about your father's unfairness without actually telling the story. Because, frankly, talking about how you forgot your binder etc etc doesn't make for very interesting poetry.
