    How do I rate,
Is it simply out of date,
    Do I really Know
    What I am looking for!
    Is it Fame
    Fortune, or just simply love!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • nansie on November 17, 2005
Hi, I must admit I picked your name at random, took a quick look at what you call poetic infusion and just did not quite click with the rapport, perhaps I am just a simple rhymist I am not looking for fame but just simple verse

    hi,
just wanted to drop in and thank you for ure comment on the column bitter chocolate - child abuse. Every single voice raised against the issue counts. Thousands of people out there need your support. And I'm sure somewhere out there, sometime, it will make a difference in someone's life. Please pass on the message of awareness.

Hi, Stacy! I am so glad you didn't get scammed by Poetry.com, but I am glad you had the experience, so we are more that can warn others about them! You made a style called Audrielle? Could you send me some examples in an Instant Message, maybe just a link to a poem or two, and I will look at it! Thanks for visiting my page! Jim
  • J.J. Sass on November 13, 2005
I too have fallen victim to Poetry.com good thing I never sent them any money (whew!)
We seem to have a bit in common. I recently wrote a poem, and noticed that it had a unique pattern, so I stuck with it and named it the Audrielle after my mom (Audrey)
So... we both recently invented new forms, and almost got scammed by Poetry.com... pretty weird huh
I enjoyed this visit to your page, and look forward to reading your work!
    Best wishes always,
    Stacy

  • Starhiker on November 10, 2005
The clues are so obvious that they can't see them.
  • Pookiebubu on November 10, 2005
They're so oblivious, aren't they, Jim?

Thanks, Linda, for taking your time to come read my author's page. Yes, it seems I make an impression on everyone I meet, and I make friends easily. Interesting to hear that your son has worked as doctor in Sierra Leone, I wish more people would donate money to the poorest country in the world! I am sorry to hear that you have lost a friend to Poetry.com. Hopefully she will one day see that you were right, and come back to you. I am a perfectionist, you say? I just like to think that there is something in the world that is not only chaos... I will look up the works of Hugh Wyles, and your works aswell. Jim
  • Red Red Rose on November 2, 2005
When I opened your newly posted contest, and read the crtique, written by your grams, I just had to visit your authors' page. I see that you have made such a wonderful impression on so many, in such a short time. I am anxious to read your works. My son, a doctor, has been to Sierra Leone, working in orphanages and clinics where there are so many dying for infectious disease (his Specialty). I am also with you on that ridiclous site, called Poetry.com. I "used" to have a friend, who no longer writes here, as we had a falling out about that site. She got so angry when I told her it was a scam. She hasn't spoken to me since! I am not the perfectionist that you are, but I do have fun, expressing myself through verse. So welcome to my favorite place to abide, and someday when you have the time, I reccomend you read some of the works by Hugh Wyles, who is definitely a perfectionist of the old style sonnet and ballad.
    Light and love, Linda

Hey Starhiker, very cool A.P. Page! I see that we have a common friend as in Huntress aka Barbara. I think she is one of the coolest people on a.p. I also like the poem you have here about Sierra Leone, and think more poetry such as that should be published than most of the stuff being put out there. Thanks again for commenting on my All Hallows Eve, and inviting me to your group which I hope to sooner than later get to joining. With regards, David

    Dear Mr. Starhiker:
I haven't even read your poetry, but the episode of the poem of Mamo village in Sierra Leone so impressed me that I'm sure I want to read whatever you write. I intuit that it is worth reading. I must get some sleep, so I'm bookmarking and adding you to my favorites if you don't mind. You were recommended to me by the young poet who is doing the Starhiker contest.

Thanks for taking interest in my page, and what I have written about here. I wish your friends the best of luck in getting the adoption sorted out as soon as possible, and I want to praise you for supporting an orphenage in Sierra Leone. Thanks for the comment!
  • Vickie J on October 19, 2005
You have such an interesting author page. I was particularly interested in the bit about Sierra Leone. We have friends who are trying to adopt a child from there and what was going to be a simple deal is turning into a horrendous drawn out ordeal. We've just recently gotten involved with supporting one of the orphanages there. Just a small amount of money goes such a long way over there.
    Glad I came by...vj

Thought I should check out my benefactor of 50 points. Thanks and have a great day! Liked the contest!
  • Starhiker on September 15, 2005
LOL! Loved that poem you found... I wonder, if it were published on Poetry.com, would it also win? Sorry to hear that you got scammed, but happy that you discovered the truth before loosing more money on them. Don't try calling them, they'll set you on an eternal hold, and your phonebill will match what you've sent them for their bogus book. About Fantasy Realm, I've withdrawn, as I don't have time for it... it was fun while it lasted, though. I'll take a look at your poetry, and hope you return the favor.
  • lunatick on September 15, 2005
I'm gonna sue that damn site ><
I was also told that a poem would get published... three, actually, luckily we only ordered one book. Or so we thought... that was a whole year ago. I've always wondered why I hadn't gotten that book... and now I meet several people who've had the same problem. Shall we make a club for Poetry.com haters? Just kidding. But I do think we should do something about it. I looked on Amazon for it about two weeks ago, actually. I'm assuming the name of the book you were told was Eternal Portraits? If so, Amazon says that book is from 2002. Definately a scam. I can't find an e-mail address to them, and the address on the letter they send is supposedly a no-reply address. Assholes(excuse my language, this isn't making me too happy). My mom said she'd give them a call some time, but she hasn't yet, and if she doesn't soon, I will.
Anyway! I just got bored and saw your name in Fantasy Realm, so I decided I'd check it out. Hope to RP with you soon!

Hi Kitty! I'm sure your book will sell like hot bread from the bakery. Hope to one day hold it in my palms, and reading it. Do be careful for any frauds, though! I got burned by the Poetry.com-scam... You know what they say, "Once burnt, twice as smelly."

    Hello Jim!!
I've come to a decision. A while back i took a book script to a publishers and was going to get it published. They accepted my script but i retracted it before the completion of the contract as i didn't want to publish in the end. But now i think im ready to publish. Im currently writing a book and have decided that when this is finished i will go through with the publishing.
    One love,
    Kitty xx

Just had to put it here on my frontpage, so everyone could read your excellent poem. I'll skip right over and take a look at the acrostics about you. Thanks for being a friend. Jim

Jim, Just stopped by to see your poem here. Thank you for posting it on your page. I think it sparked something. I had gotten one done before by Pamela A Lamppa on me in the form of an acrostic pallindrome, she's good...LOL Now after reading my poems today, pookiebubu formerly e e hal and the person who greeted me when I joined did one in honor of me.
I have them both on my page now if you do get a chance to take a look. It is a nice feeling when someone does that for you.
I'm happy I was able to do one in your honor. Take care my friend. Joyce
