    to your statement above, "Please, give someone a kind word today. Words can heal wounds and improve the world we live in. It will make YOU feel better too if you are kind to others."

    If we give someone a bad day just because we are having a bad day, it doubles the ill feeling. As they say, two wrongs don't make one right.

    I try to find good in everything, and even if I don't like something much, there is a kind way of saying that it is not to my taste. More than that, a lonely person needs a kind word; and we never know if someone is feeling lonely.

    Lastly, it feels good to do good. Spread joy by speaking kindly.

    I agree! I have absolutely no doubt that the world is turning into a truly disturbing place... homophobia is a disgusting thing - right up there with racism, abuse, negligence... every now and then it's refreshing to see something as optimistic as your page!

    So you work for a mental hospital? Well, then, we have something in common! I don't anymore, but I did for 2 years.
    It was a challenge, but they were 2 very wonderful years. I worked with geriatrics, many of which I learned to love, and were probably as sane as either of us. I think the children wanted to be rid of them, and couldn't afford nursing homes! Anyway, I am adding you to my favorites after seeing your entry in my contest.

    To Whom It May Concern~

    I want to thank everyone for his or her entries. I used more paper than what was legal in printing off them all to judge them fairly with no names.

    I am sorry to say, due to personal conflict with Demented Sonneteer that I am withdrawing after I have chosen three poems from the contest. I am going to respectfully decline in having anything further to do with this contest. I hope all of you can understand my position without me going into detail.

    I am going to list the three I chose and I hope you all do read them. After looking up who wrote these poems I was not surprised one bit. All three have incredible ways to word their work without the common ‘light as a feather’ additions. In no order do I have these… Just the three that I thought would make a wonderful addition to the board.

    I hope that my word in saying whom I chose is good enough for these poets to be happy. They are exceptional in what they have brought to AP and to this contest. I read them to try to learn more…. I hope you all can do the same.

    glad to see your home didn't sustain major damage. we lost power for three days and it goes without saying, we had to toss the contents of our fridge and freezer! ah well! seeing as it had already defrosted, i made the most of the opportunity and cleaned. hmmm. silver-lining, yes! hope all is well.
