some photo info for you
For someone who wants to become a professional photographer, just know its really HARD to get your stuff seen and sold these days, with everyone going digital and being able to fix their mistakes in photoshop, mass produce prints for cheap and advertise themselves pretty easily online.
Ive been taking pictures for over 22 years now, and am just NOW getting some business, but I have had to go out and get it. I started taking photos of my friends, and then they show them to their friends and those people end up wanting me to take their pictures and by then I start charging
and am now getting some wedding jobs, headshots, and family portraits to do, for probably not enough money, but its a start anyway.
As for cameras, it really depends on what you like
what your purposes are for (mostly computer graphics? do you actually want to print some? large or small sizes??) etc.
I went for the fuji finepix s7000 because it looks and feels like "a camera" to me. its heavy, and I have to hold it wiht both hands, and its a digital camera but it looks and feels like my nikon n65 film camera. I couldnt get myself to feel like I was actually holding a real camera when I had my first digital which was the typical small lil silverish rectangle thing that felt like a toy (even though it was bout 400$)
If you want, feel free to email me at jen@jenmartinstudios.com and Ill send you more information
I dont wanna take up your whole page

simon27 on June 25, 2003Welcome to All Poetry, Karr!
You will find so much to do here; poetry of all genres, fun contests, a Chatterbox (and IM) to talk with your friends. AP is an interactive site; we ask that you comment on/critique 4 poems for each one that you post (don't worry, it's not as difficult as it sounds!).
You'll notice a yellow shield by your name; this indicates that you are a Preferred Member. When your free trial membership expires, you can still post your own and comment upon other's poems, you'll just lose the ability to upload your own images (and a few other benefits - you can see them in the 'Store' tab...). But you can still purchase a Preferred or Uber membership if the benefits appeal to you - doing so will help support the site, but it is not mandatory.
Points are used to promote your poetry and run your own fun contests. You earn them by commenting on other people's poems (not to mention that they in turn read and critique yours) or you can buy them - again, check out the 'Store' tab.
You can promote your work, in the Featured Box or in Shameless Promotion (directly below the Chatterbox). Please Do Not Promote In The Chatterbox. People have been fined points for doing so, and nobody wants to see that happen.
If you need any help, Moderator's names are highlighted in blue and Greeters in green. There is a 'Help' tab or feel free to IM any one of us.
Enjoy your All Poetry experience!
-simon
