I stumbled across your page when I was browsing some contests. It is very nice to see another uniformed person here. It is a pleasure to be able to put a poem in one of your contests. I do hope you can draw some inspiration from it.

I was going to submit a poem called "She calls me home", but it is too personal for me to enter it, but rather I entered "A Battle" into your contest.

If your wondering, I have been a soldier in the Canadian Military for over 21 years now. So I share a respect for those who also wear a uniform. If you ever find yourself needing to talk with someone, I have good strong shoulders and an ear open if you need to talk..

O we have the same motto! Except I shorten it! Just like the people in the marine corps do. Your poetry seems very interesting too! I'm not going to say the name of the poem or the writer, but there jes happens to be a good marine corps poem (not called that) around here^^. Semper Fi!!! Oorah!

I have commented on all your work except for 'Five Seconds Too Late' I will get to that one at another time. Usually short stories bore me, including my own.

I feel that you do rhyme nicely, you could improve on your rhyming by not using so many simplistic words. You should mix it up, make them challenging for yourself and the reader.

Everyone loves a challenge, including myself.

Also, I feel you should dabble in syllable poems, doesn't have to be haiku or cinquain but one could always start there.

And non-rhyming piece, I think those could also be a benefit to you. One shouldn't always stick to one form of writing at a main. Should always mix it up, and then when the confidence is solely there in most or all other categories than one can focus most of their attention to one form.

    In my opinion.

You have 1 great piece and 1 excellent piece. The others are good - nice and ok.

You do not have to take or even make note of my suggestions and opinions or anyone elses really. But, one should still see if they add up, and then make your own opinion on that.

I have you on my fav's list, if you wish to read and comment on my work that is fine, you don't have to. But, I will continue on yours.

    Have a good day.

AHHHHHH!!!! I'm in heaven - I am without a daubt THE BIGGEST LORD OF THE RINGS FAN IN THE WORLD (except for maybe you guys). I love the Elves, just everything about them are beautiful. One of my poems (Hamiel) is and imitation of the type of stuff Tolkien would write about in his poem-stories.
