Hell, you don't need me for inspiration. You're a photographer damn it. Just blindly reach in that big box of photos and grab one. Then either write about the image itself or the circumstances that the snapshot was taken. Seeeeeeeee it's
as easy as apple pie... Now get cracking...

Maybe, sometimes, it is more about forgiving ones self. Things are seldom what they appear to be on the surface. I have never pierced flesh, nor stopped a beating heart. But it was war...and I understand being dogged by the past. Understand flashbacks and nightmares and startling awake in a cold sweat to pictures so real it could have just happened yesterday...instead of years ago...and I understand vowing never to do something again. And while that brings a sort of peace, it doesn't chase away the nightmares. It doesn't chase away who you were at the moment it happened. It doesn't replace the fear that you are still that person inside under the right circumstances.
No, I never killed anyone...but I wished someone dead just about everynight since the age of 15..once I realized the full gravity of what he did to me..what he took from me. And had I met him in an alley somewhere, with the anger I felt..yeah, I could have dropped him like a fly. It took years..but I forgave him...then ...I forgave myself. No more nightmares. We walk toward, double back, side step, and sabotage... nothing can change the roads we choose, nothing can undo them. Ones' life...well, it is what it is.
But where we are is exactly where we want to be (whatever the reasons)..or we'd be elsewhere. And yeah, there is always hope. And on that note..hope all is well with you and yours.

Now they are saying we may get snow on Friday night. I'll try to photograph the flake before it melts. I doubt we get that much snow in the entire state the whole of winter.
-
Lots of snow? There is still ice here, on the creases of the roof.

Yep, and well known around these parts. But, just between us, don't park under the street light...hub cap rustlers, but your horse is safe.

Very "Doors"ish feel to this. Makes me think smoke and neon lights and Jim Morrison for some reason.

"There are moments caught up in a day
When your laughter rings so true
I turn to see if you are there
Somewhere behind me.
It echoes behind a tree,
beside a building
Floats up to the sun
drawn by its' magnet of heat.
If only it had come from you
and not from the faded memory
of an old lover, hiding."
Just what came
Hope all is well

Hey, Sag. Hope you had a great 4th.

You are a great writter. Your poem about being a soldier is nothing short of amazing. You did a great job telling our story. The horrors we deal with and the hate we see.. The loneliness we endure being away from those we love. I would like to thank you so much for writting your poems about being a soldier.
By the way Eddy sent me your page after reading my military poetry.
-
Know what? I think I am all poemed out. I have been working on poem all day and no luck. I tend to star things...but not finish them. Is that a character flaw or just writer's block?

For a second there I thought that anchor was the one at Arlington but then remembered it was much larger and don't believe it was placed on stone tho there was some there if I remember right.
-
Love the bits of color against the almost non color of the stones and the gray of the anchor. And how is it Paul Geisert always hits the mark?
-
Came to see if you had any new ones, guess not everyone writes as much as I do. Still love your latest write, it left me in awe once again.

That is a very haunting song. But those lyrics are perfect
for such a beautiful photograph.
-
Those last two stanza's are killer. It's so true, women get a lot of their self image from their dad's attitude toward them.
They do learn how to love (or not love) from him. And if he does not love her solidly and stand firmly in place, give her a good strong image of how precious she is to him, she walks away into the world empty. And she is always searching. Even when she has found, because she has a difficult time believing any man could find her valuable or worth loving. And when she does find a man that maybe she could trust. She will test him, for all the same reasons. Knowing; expecting that he will one day get tired of her
insecurity and find it easy to turn his back and walk away.

That photo is incredible. Leave it to you to catch such abstraction in something as simple as water. Awe-some.
-
And, yes, LOL..they make them small enough...almost.

I like the duplicity here, how you can read each line differently, and it varies the meaning just a bit. When dreams shatter, they don't leave very much intact. And lies..well I won't even go there. Edited on Mar 18, 6:30 because ''.
