Hey.. That's a wonderful poem you've written, "The Poet" for your bio. I love your diction, esp the lines:
"The paper before her,
Taunts her with its whiteness."
and
"They say the eyes
Are the windows to the soul...
She would have to disagree."
It's a beautiful write... I've wanted to write one like that... but never got the right words out. It seems you've done it for me, so thanks for that! I'm glad I got to read it.

THE POET, which you have posted on this page certainly voices the way that I sometimes feel about putting my thoughts on paper and the vulnerability that comes with innate feelings that seem to appear involuntarily when I write. Your poems are for the masses, but this one and IF I WERE BUT THE BREEZE show me that we could be kindred spirits. Thank you for sharing! Klassy Lassy

Just has you on my mind tonight..thought you could use a and a I hope things in your world are just too wonderful for words.

Ruth,
i just want to say again how your poem, The Letter, touched my heart this morning. many poems i read are well written, rhyme and flow, but the message in The Letter is one that spoke to me in such a way...maybe becasue my own sons are the joy of my life and they know it, or maybe becasue my own relationship with my mother was so lacking...i just know your poem is now on my fridge door printed out, i hope you do not mind...it is my favorite poem of all time, i like it even better than 'cary's waltz' lol! (written by me of course )
all kidding aside, i hope you will send it to a publisher, a magazine, hallmark...i seldom go on and on about anything, so forgive me if i am being a pest, i just really love the poem and wanted to thank you for sharing it.
i think you are great.
-

i just read a fantastic old fairy tale of sleeping beauty, i was trying to recall the difference between her and Snow White..it seems Beauty was named Princess Aurora and was cursed to sleep a hundred years by pricking her finger on a spinning wheel, ha! the apple poisoning was exclusive to the snow white story, and there we have fairy tale trivia 101 ! i have too much timeon myhands today i see... no matter if you come to the ball as Snow or Aurora, you are a princess for sure!
-
hi Ruth! just wanted to thannk you again for entering my contest, the poem is fantastic, i just have no idea why you are not one of "the biggest names on AP" hahahahahahahaha...this of course is reference to another contest i tried to enter today and was promptly DQ'd from! haha! life is so damn fun sometimes! best to you~ rebeka here, a cup of coffee with hazelnut for ya, i tried not to spill any of it while i was laughing at myself

Holy guacomole, what a treasure trove of trophies! Very impressive! I'm glad that you target your audiece as "everyone" and not the "elite" as many poets tend to do. Excellent!
-

read your post, don't quit. people need honest criticism, and if they can't take it they need to grow up and stop posting.
-
Dear Ruth,
Oh, that wasn't bad. When you said erotica, I thought it was going to be very graphic.
This is very good! This is what the Spanish call "ensimismada", a sort of really getting into yourself and making heads or tails of what you are truly feeling at the moment. Very lovely, Ruth.
You are a very stunning woman! You have a sort of Barbara Stanwick look in your eyes!
Thanks again!
John

Hi! I heard a song on the radio yesterday that made me think of you and several of your poems I'd read. I wondered if you had heard it and felt God tugging at my heart to share it with you in case you had not. It's called "Held" by Natalie Grant. If you have not heard it, I strongly recommend you seek it out for a listen.
-
Your poetry is very beautiful. Very easy to read, and it seems almost mystical the way it flows. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
-
Hi :-)
I love how your poetry is really, as you said, easy to understand. No dictionaries for me! :-) My absolute favorite so far though, is the one on your author page above. Wow. That one left me speechless. Especially the very last stanza. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Thank you also for your very kind comment on my poem "Does that Count?". It's so apperciated, and your words were so nice. Thanks again!
Take care, and God bless!
Sarah Beth
