I LOVE Annabel Lee! It's one of my faves, too1 Welcome to the class, and let me know if there is anything you would like to get out of this class. I'm trying to keep it as flexible as possible, so there isn't too much structure, but I need help from you guys to do that. Thanks!

Thanks for explaining the title of MuseIV. It must be wonderful to have a muse to write for, and indeed the person must be a great friend to inspire you. Take care and thanks for replying. Bronwen

I read through your writes and thought most excellent. Very impressed with the range of voices, from way sad "Rose Garden" through super cool "Coffee & Cigarette Ash", atom-smashing them together into "Flow". Good eye for the different styles, try mixing some up it might come out edge.

Hey Rikki, I haven't found many people that I have so much in common with as far as reading material goes. I love Oscar Wilde, and Poe. Annabel Lee is one of my all time favorite poems and certainly my favorite by Poe. If you are ever in Philadelphia check out his house on spring garden street. I once worked a cardiac arrest in that house.

Thought I would stop in and have a look at your words write. Pretty nifty write and I can relate to what you are saying with all of the street slang that is issued each day. Its sounds are quite pleasing to the ear though I often wonder what it was that I heard. Simple words are also great as their meanings are less likely to be misconstrued. Thanx for sharing your write. Take care.

Thanks Rikki! You are pretty intense for your age. The trials and tribulations of life will put a more "weathered" edge to your writings soon, and I look forward to that. Don't stop.

Annabel Lee is an excellent choice. One of my English teachers once had us investigate the word "necrophilia" and use it in a paper about this particular poem and "The Fall of the House of Usher." My all-time favorite Poe poem is "A Dream Within a Dream." I'm from Baltimore, and Poe's grave is right across the street from the hospital where my wife works. I visit it often. There's usually a rose or two left on his tombstone, and sometimes a bottle of cognac.
