ma belle on September 15, 2007Dear Polly, I haven't been on much the last 4 mo. due to a major home renovation (overhaul, facelift, whatever you want to call it) and gosh-darn it's still in session but I needed to take a break by venturing out for a short season to play. Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to visit and commenting on my work. You're such a good friend and fine poet as well. ♥ Belle

Theasp on October 2, 2006rattling
hail blasts roof
spreads silence
sweet earth smells
hail digs for children
finds nothing
always a subtext and mystery to all
lightning strikes dead trees
rain can stop empty water
faalling in nothing
flower opens sun's rays
dawn reaches zenith and kills flower

MiscSad-Poet on September 29, 2006This is cool, I like the way you wrote these lines. The rhyme is good, keep it up and Good Luck. Actually, the poem, La Intrusa, was written because of an experience I had years ago.

ma belle on September 22, 2006It has been such a delight sharing critiques today. I have also added you to my favorites and am looking forward to reading more of your work. We seem to have a lot in common with family (children/grandchildren/marriage) and poetry. My dad was in the miliatry (army) and I loved every minute of it (particularly traveling). All my best,

Pollycheck on September 20, 2006The english translation is in the same comment under the sanskrit version. I did a word by word translation and may have done it wrong/literally the interpretation would be.

I can understand Sanskrit written in Devnagari script. I could not construct words written in Roman script. Hence I could not understand the meaning of Akatacikata akshari kaawya. Is it by MAMMAT who wrote Kaavya-Prakaash?
Please write me English translation of it. I am really curious to understand it.
Also how do you know so much of sanskrit? You seem to be an Indian. Please write

Mvumo on June 24, 2006I hope you will continue hosting contests despite the unfortunate incident you've had... I unintentionally missed that contest entirely.
Best wishes. -
grannyeri on May 24, 2006You are fairly new here so I say Welcome to AP too. I have been married 35 years last Dec, so we are similar in age, Have two kids and five grandchildren. Aren't they precious? Thanks for the comments on my poetry. Hope you get the chance to take some classes and learn some different forms and styles. The most important thing is to have fun writing - Think the neighbours will get used to us meeting like this if we do it often enough. Have a good evening...
