Hey, don't put yourself down like that. I like questions!
Hm, let's see...I call myself Pocket mostly because I just like the sound of the word. I used to be pocket-goth because I'm a small person with a taste for blood and black lipstick but I decided I didn't like the label.
The book is The Crow graphic novel by James O' Barr... I got it from a local bookshop. You could probably find it from a site like amazon.com but I understand it was out of print for a time... I'm not really sure. Tis a masterpeice, though.
Harass me anytime
~Jennifer~
-
how come you're called pocket?
where can i find the book you were talking about? (i.e. "i love both the graphic novel and the film (Brandon Lee, RIP) but I adore the book to the ends of all the is dark and poetic.")
have i asked enough questions yet?
lol, sorry, i'm an incessant little annoying ant that likes to prowl ap at night and look for people who could be my friends. lol, i usually don't have much luck. lol. well, i'll stop harrasing you now. laterz

...that reminds me of that cradle video with the girls playing the vio. on their arms...
Anyway....I would love to sit and read your latest addition...But seeing I lack the time, feel like shit, and your writings are about suicide, and your stuff to me is like parchment of ancient writings/scripts and I treasure them all...I'll pass on it today...Just passing by to see what you were up to...*apparently you've been a busy busy little girl *

"There is a man playing the violin... and the strings are the nerves on his own arm."
That's my favourite. It made me shiver.
I love both the graphic novel and the film (Brandon Lee, RIP) but I adore the book to the ends of all the is dark and poetic. The artwork is among the most beautiful I've ever seen and the prose and poetry is uplifting and crushingly sorrowful at the same time.
"My Valentine Has Hollow Eyes"
Oh, I could go on forever...
-
omg im in love with the crow the book that is!?!
are we in hell?
no but we can see it from here is oine of the coolist lnies and i have laods fo its poetry on my page wowey!

Right. So here's the joke about the old man and the punk:
A very normal-looking old gentleman is sitting on a park bench. A loud punk with blue and green hair and fluroscent clothing comes and sits at the other corner of the park bench. He looks at the old man from the corner of his (heavily linered) eyes and sneers.
Old gentleman keeps looking at punk with a knowing smile.
After a while punk gets restless with that gaze and asks the old gentleman in his usual exaggerated style, "Hey you old dude, what d'yo think you're lookin' at huh?"
Old gentleman smiles and calmly answers, "I'm just wondering if you're the son of the peacock I did it with."
Punk is totally scandalized and leaves the park bench asap.
(So much for the liberal extremist!!!)
---
I'm generally playing the role of the aforementioned old gentleman. Let the immature kids play the punk.
[Btw, this is an Indian joke. Out there in the West the punks DO probably have their political agendas and stuff. Punks down here only have that style and the 'attitude'] Edited on Mar 07, 11:07 because ''.

I totally agree with that. I'm pretty quiet and I've found that people I know, especially those who talk alot, find out things about me that really surprise them, things they should have known. I prefer listening, really. Then you can catch people out and tell whether or not they're fake. It also means I can limit stupid mistakes and make sure I don't make a fool of myself quite so often... I don't really mind being labeled because I don't want people to know "The real me", whoever the hell she is. I'd kill before I'd let anyone read my diary, especially the few I care about.
People are so very interesting...
-
It's hard to understand why people try to categorize people into 'types' at all. Granted that there ARE a few such unidimensional people, but most people are not.
I had to face something like that when I joined up my new school earlier this year. I'm a hardcore liberal and rebel - just that I'm the 'quiet' rebel (oxymoron, huh?). So for the first months I was taken to be the 'good girl' and all the so-called 'cool' people took me for a nerd and teachers thought they could boss me around. I never said a word. I'm not the type who screams and shouts their opinion. I'm the type that quietly lets them know that I'm gonna do my thing, and they can go to hell over it. Ever heard the joke about the old man and the punk? I'm that old man - more liberal and hardcore than the punk can even imagine.
But you know what, being a 'nobody' helps you get 'real' friends. The 'cool' gang at school is suddenly all hyper to hang out with me (now that my true colours are out), but when during my first months they were the ones who used to sneer. It's good that I saw this ugly face of theirs - I wouldn't have wanted to reside in a fool's world believing they're the nicest people in the world. But the friends I got during those months ARE truly the nicest people in the world, for they won't ever judge by my 'coolness' or the absence of it.

Wow, thanks for commenting! I dress under a different "category" every day... I don't think you should base your friends on what they wear... it's just restricting, isn't it? It's so cool that you like Anne Lennox... what a voice. Thanks again. xx
-
I understand your problem with everyone catorgorizing. I have that problem a lot. Picture an athletic girl with long white blond hair, pale skin, luminesent blue eyes, and listens to Marilyn MAnson, Poison, any metal band you can think of, and listens to Anne Lennox and classical music. I basically fit in no group and that is just fine with me, but still people try to put me with people. When they first see me it's a prep, when they get to know me goth, when they really take the time to get to know me They are undecided. It really doesn't matter because I have all types of friends but I just wanted to say I enjoy your poetry and your stories and I love to draw and write (apperently) but I think you are very good at portraying emotion, I see it in your stories all the time. Anyway I'll stop by later and read more of your stuff.
