I like poems about how things that look very plain or even unattractive, can be beautiful. Poems that show the true beauty present all around us every day.

If you would like to see a poem like that, by a famous poet named Robert Herrick, then visit this address:

    http://www.luminarium.org/sevenlit/herrick/disorder.htm

The poem is called Delight in Disorder. If you read it, let me know what you think. Personally I love that poem.

You are a very good writer, I enjoy simple stuff too...I guess that is why i try to keep stuff simple, I don't enjoy reading things that are difficult to understand. thanks again, hope you enjoy my contest poem!

Thanks for the applause! I'm an amateur photographer, all of 17, and armed with an outofdate 2megapixel digital camera, with the option for film. I work at a camera store, so I'm slowly learning the tricks of the trade. Your poems are nice...I'll try to get back and do some real commentary on them later.

    Best wishes!

Thanks for your comments Photo, I too like both photography and poetry. You may be interested in my poetry website, where I combine the two into one, you can link to it from my author page. It's not much of a site, but it may give you some good ideas. Keep that camera and pen of yours busy.

They say a poets art is their heart. You surely have this. And you are an artist indeed, painting literal images and visions of endless thought with words.
  • PhotoPoet on December 31, 2003
I don't consider myself very humble but thanks! And thanks for the verse. I'll put that on my wall of quotes!
  • GlassSlippers on December 31, 2003
I just wanted to leave a comment on your page, sweetie. I loved that in your description of yourself you added "I wish that I could be an artist but I don't have very many skills yet". That's very humble and very open. With an attitude like that you'll learn everything you can everywhere you can, and people will be happy to teach you all they know. That kind of humility is hard to come by, and is worth a million pounds of skill.
I looked this up for you:
"He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way" Psalm 25:9
