LadyLover on July 3, 2003Hiya!! And welcome to AP I joined this hapy ( not ) place just a couple of months ago and I have gotten alot of positive feedback from many o people. Like your best friend said if you need anything ( and she can't help you ) I might be able to fill in and tell u the answers. I like all of our poetry ( ther r only 2 and I have read each one ) but I think you need to write more, thats what people kept telling me "You have to write more you have to write more" So I am carrying on the tradition of that cliche. Anyway come visit my page if you want, have fun be mean or nice don't matter to me. I like this oh and one more thing ( and it kinda ties into the write more thing ) write more in your profile, I have seen many o people write like 3 pages on their profiles and you have like 5 lines. Anyway keep it up!!!
STAY EXISTENTIAL!!! ( My greeting/exit phrase )
LOVE hateablecoco110

ArtFullyMe on June 9, 2003Hello, greetings and salutations! Welcome to All Poetry, or as you may hear it termed All Pro, or AP, site of the cyberspace rhyme, and other poetical things. One of the first things you may or may not have noticed when you joined is that beside your name there is a Yellow Badge, and that on your options page it tells you your membership will expire in four days. Well first things first, no need to worry, what that means is your 'preferred' membership will end, not your membership on the site. You will still be able to post and comment on poems. You will however lose some of the things you might get quite used to in the first 4 days, such as being able to see who is reading what, your name highlighted in bold, the ability to upload your own backgrounds, and the little Yellow Badge. Also if you have uploaded a picture to your author page I am sorry to say it will also disappear.
So, what can one do here at AP?, well the site is an interactive one, meaning the name of the game is to be involved and participate. What advantage is there to this? The first main one is, the more you read and comment on others work the more likely others will return the favour, not a bad idea when you think of it. As you wander around commenting on the work of other poets you will begin to aquire points based on the length of your comments. So what's the point of points? ah, well points allow you to promote your own work in what is appropiately known as the 'feature box', another avenue to having your work read. Another way to earn points is by entering and winning contests, you can find these by using the 'contests' tab ( above ). In fact I would suggest checking out all the different tabs just to familiarize yourself with the site.
Should the tedium of writing begin to wear you down you can always check Old Poetry, and read some of the many classics there, or wander over to All Philosophy and expound on one of it's boards. Do you have a story or more to tell? or enjoy reading them? If so then by all means visit Story Write. If after all of this, you are still trying to find something to do there is always the 'chatterbox' where you can complain of writers block and other things with fellow poets. If you need help with anything do not hesitate to ask, greeters names are highlighted in green and moderators are highlighted in blue and will be happy to help you in any way they can. Never hesitate to ask, that is what they are there for and would be seriously bored if no one asked anything. ( don't quote me on that )
Well if you have made it all the way through this greeting .....great!! I am glad you did. This site continues to grow and is a wonderful place for poets to get together and interact ( rant )
...but seriously now, it is a fantastic place which I hope you do come to enjoy.
Welcome " bluemadness " to All Poetry
