  • Frogzter on December 8, 2005
    Every morning when I awake
I ask the Lord my cares to take,
I thank him for another day,
and showing me a better way.

I ask him to make my path straight,
Teach me love that I shall not hate,
that he alone I might obey,
letting nothing stand in my way.

I thank him for my new found friend,
opened her heart and let me in,
she will stand by me from now on,
to remind me that I'm not alone.

Add another stanza and try to make each line 8 syllables and we will have a perfect entry for the contest! It will be under your name when entered! Blessings and hugs... MOM

Just stopped by to add a few lines to our poem. Will you think of a good title for it?

I added a few lines and they rhyme... is this ok or would you rather do it free verse. I have made the lines with a meter of 8 syllables each.

    Every morning when I awake,
I ask the Lord my cares to take.
I thank him for another day,
for showing me a better way.

I ask him to make my path straight,
That I shall love and never hate.

Hi NeverBeTheSame. I want to thank you so very much for choosing my poem, Stagnant Water. I hope that it did encourage you to always read your Bible... for therein lies a Christian's strength and hope. It is 'key' in a Christians life. May God truly bless you in all ways! ***smiles*** ~Melissa

Wow, after I commented on your poem, I saw my message that you left about the poem you wrote about me. I am so tickled. I have that contest bookmarked as well. Was thinking of looking for someone to write about today. I do have alot of poems...about 130 poems. I have hosted 15 contests and have 26 trophys. Hi NeverBeTheSame
I love your background! I just wanted to leave a comment in your guestbook before heading out. I enjoyed reading one of your poems. It was very good. Well I'll be coming back to comment on more of your work. Take care!

If that happens to be you in the picture above, I can't help but state the obvious... but you are incredibly thin. Maybe it's the lighting that makes it so near-unfathomable... but even without it, most definitely... thin.
  • C.W. Bush on January 26, 2004
G'day, I've just been assigned to be your 'parent poet'. Noticed we're the same age though, so I guess it'll be more like big brother poet.

I'm about to have guests for dinner, but I just thought I'd make my introductions while it was fresh in my mind. My name's Chris, and I'm a 20 year old theatre student/writer from Australia. I write in most styles, but story-writing is probably my favourite medium.

Anyways, I'll be back on later tonight, so I'll read some of your work then and tell you what I think.

I look forward to learning more about you, and hopefully helping you out with your poetry.

    Chris

Thanks for your comment on campfire. Know that it's never too late to meet God...unless of course you die so it's better to meet Him while you have the chance. God loves you...so you're never alone when you know Him, He's always there for you. I'll keep you in my prayers, and if you want to know God, IM me and we'll talk. God Bless!

Welcome to ‘All Poetry’. I hope that you will enjoy your time spent here, we have many options available to showcase your writing.

We also have a huge range of poem genre’s, click on the ‘Poems’ tab top left hand corner and you will be able to choose from a host of categories. This is a good way to find poems in the genre to which you can relate.

‘All Poetry’ is an interactive site, whereby your comments on other poets work will not only provide feed back for them, but build up your own points, in time enabling you to promote your own works and perhaps begin a challenge.

Use the chatter-box to talk to other poets but please don’t promote your poetry there., (we have a shameless promotion area for that). You can also send instant messages to other poets whether on or off line by using the chatter box.

This site does not only offer modern poetry, but as you find your way around you will find many interesting places to visit. ‘Old Poetry’ – the masters, poets from Australia, Europe, America to name a few. ‘Story Write’ – if you feel you have a story to share – this is the place. We even have our ‘All Philosophy’ site, so please feel free to join in the discussions there, you can even go to ‘class’ and learn more about poetry writing.

Take time to check out the benefits of Preferred or Uber membership, and if you ever need any help our Moderators (their names are highlighted in blue), will be able to help you. Greeters( like myself) are highlighted in green or go to the ‘Help' tab for more information, or just contact me and I’ll help you to find your way around.
Perhaps you'll Never be the same now that you are an All Poetry member
This site continues to grow and prosper and I’m happy to be able to Welcome you to ‘All Poetry’ to be a part of it .*rose*
    Regards,

    ~Von~
