Hey Myst. I have not only read Stewart's "The Crystal Cave", but the entire 4 book series ( The Crytal Cave, The Hollow Hills, The Last Enchantment, Wicked Day) twice! And yes, I borrowed my AP named from that dear lady's work, having had a deep affinity for the Arthurian legend and Merlin in particular for many years and from many different perspectives.

    Peace and blessings, Myrddin

Hello. Your name caught my attention, being one of Merlin's names. I've seen it in a few books.. Have you read Mary Stewart's The Crystal Cave?
  • MyrddinEmrys on October 14, 2006
Hey, bekah, nice of you to drop by, my oldest AP friend.

"We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are."

I don't believe I've ever seen that exact statement before, but the idea, in all of its levels of meaning has presented itself to me from a number of sources. Perhaps the one I most resonate with is that all is subjective... we literally ARE what we see, as in "Thou art That!"

Life and love (love life) are in a state of flighty flux (all fluxed up so to speak) but the journey to nowhere continues apace.

    Catcha later,intoxicator!

Hi, Bekah. Thanks for dropping in. I see you have a new post, but I haven't checked it out just yet. I will. If you checked our lastest posts here, you've seen the sahdana and I are sailing through some rocky shoals right now and only time will tell if the damage to the Love Boat is critical or not. Catcha later, intoxicator!

Thanks, Helen, for your sweet note and you are very welcome for the applause. Know that you are as much the reflection of the Light you see in Presence, sadhana and myself, a lamp in your own right. We all recognize in the world around us the very thing we are. Shine brightly, sweet sister!

    Peace and blessings, Rod
  • SpiritMother on June 20, 2006
I wanted to visit with you today for the Spirit has moved me to tell you what a bright light that you shed upon this world as does my friend "Presence"..Thank you for the applause given, it was very much appreciated. I am glad that you and your love are still sharing and spreading the love of the universe. Blessings to you today and always.

Bekah, you were my first friend here and did much to encourage me. I've truly enjoyed the vagaries of your expression, especially your way with imagery and your honesty about your feelings. You're one of the few people I read that I feel I can give an honest comment to every time. sahdana and I are still going strong, over the hills and valleys of relationship, still bright eyed and bushy tailed, in love with the adventure of companionship.

Blessings back to you and thanks for the blessing of your friendship.

    Peace, Rod
  • metrophobiac on April 27, 2006
hey thanks, Rod. Gosh, i dont know what to say to people anymore in response to comments. It feels selfish not to go "return the favor" yet, I do not feel compelled to just be courteous. I would rather go to them when the mood strikes...i am not speaking directly about you, just a thought of overwhelming I wanted to share with you. A vent, perhaps? But thank you for all your ever encouragement. I never know where writing will take me. I originally started writing poetry to help me with my song writing. Then it just took over.

Blessings to you...how is your darling fiancee?
  • MyrddinEmrys on April 23, 2006
Thanks, brother! As I've tried to convince that sweet and noisy little blabbing bird, every day is a birthday, each momemt, this Moment, is the act of being born anew. Please celebratewith me the birth of Life in the Light of All within the One, here as Earth in the midst of Heaven.

    Peace, Rod

  • mystikmanky on February 17, 2006
very good then. i just asked because it reminded me of my favorite book trilogy because the second book is about merlin actually, and has a lot of his different names in it. cheers!
  • MyrddinEmrys on February 17, 2006
Well, mystikmanky, I happened to have borrowed it from Mary Stewart's fiction series on the Arthurian legend in which she told the tale from the life of Merlin Ambrosius, which is Myrddin Emrys in Welsh. I have a personal affinity for Merlin for a number of reasons and generally use one of the versions of the name for internet login.
  • mystikmanky on February 16, 2006
just wondering...where did you get your name from?
  • on February 3, 2006
MyrddinEmrys, i am Sowelu, your loving sister from bloodlines of long ago, with shared history and kin, how is it that i never noticed the soul of this poet? the charmed life we led, with the myriad of spiritual venues, should have prepared me for such beauty and expression. but, alas, i am awed by the magnificence of the simplicity with which you have created such a beautiful landscape of alliteration splendor. and i thought i was the wordsmith of the clan! my heart is full... and humbled. peace and love be your blessings for the asking!

ps: the mugshot's not bad at all, bro! ;-) definitely sharing this with poetfriends here and abroad. peace.

You have a very interesting screen name. Is it Welsh? (looks like it, but I can't tell offhand.) Please, tell me of its origin.

Your photo also reflects a kind soul. I will have to come back and read your work to see if my premonitions are right--at the moment, I am just visiting random pages.

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

Wishing you and yours a joyous, prosperous New Year Love, Peace, Joy, Blessings, Myst~
  • MyrddinEmrys on December 29, 2005
Thanks for the compliments on the mugshot. The posting was partially inspired by seeing your elfish grin on your page. While I am currently (and hopefully forever) matched with another, I hope my sparing poetry and friendly commentary WILL serve as a porch on which to tell you (and the world) of Life as It speaks through me. Now, the cigarette part...well, I'll just have to sit upwind of you (I quit over 30 years ago). Your friendship here encourages me to stay a member of this rather perplexing community. Thanks, Myrddin aka Rod.

ps- I'm not ready for the crystal cave just yet, though I'd love to be living life backwards.
  • metrophobiac on December 29, 2005
Myrddin, you have a picture up! I just saw it! Such a kind face! I love it! Wow. You seem the type that would sit on the porch and watch the sunset with me and tell me about life while I smoke a cigarette. Pictures paint a thousand words, but I just love your picture. I say this cuz I mean this. Bekah
